Re: Sprint pushing updates to S3 so much, any1 thinkin about swit
Guy at work has the S3. He loves it so am considering it. He says the LTE is faster than his home connection.
I'm assuming you're in one of the few markets that turned up Sprint LTE (either that or your co-worker doesn't know what LTE is or he's on Verizon).
If you have Sprint LTE, that's great. If I had Sprint LTE turned up in my area, I'd probably jump on the S3 just for that feature. But I totally do not, and by the time it's switched on, something better than the S3 will be available.
The current issue is that on a data level, S2 >>>> S3 simply because I can actually get WiMax 4G with 8-12mbps downloads around my offices, but 3G in the same places is 120-300kpbs with 500ms ping times. So one phone is usable, the other is not.
At the same time, I would probably still go for it if I were coming from, say, the Evo4G. But the S2 has ICS (well, mine does at least), the camera is about as good except for a few shooting modes to S3 has (burst, HDR, and capture during video), the screen is slightly shorter but no less narrow, and the quality of the screen image isn't as far apart as you would think considering the resolution difference. So I'm not chomping at the bit to ditch the phone I have right now.
There's still a chance I'll jump ship and go to Verizon fr the S3, but frankly, their customer service and policies really suck so hard that I'm afraid to make the switch.
