Not due upgrade till September. Guy at work has the S3. He loves it so am considering it. He says the LTE is faster than his home connection.

I'm certainly going to be picking up an S3. Based on when I actually upgraded (returned then got the S2) I will be available to upgrade on August 1st. Nothing in the pipeline seems to excite me much, and a co-worker with the S3 absolutely loves it (he had an iPhone 4 or 4S before it). My only concern is about the time its going to take to roll out LTE. Sadly, I don't think I'll have a reliable signal until 2013 based on the roll out, but we shall see. If signal pentration is better than WiMax i might be good.

This is my strategy as well. But, I haven't heard anything about the next Nexus device. Thinking we maybe waiting another year or so for one...

Dark Knight - This has crept into my head recently. Obviously the idea of having the most "updatable" hardware is certainly desireable. I can skin away (thanks Sprint ID) from Touch Wiz for the most part, and it does provide some value.
The big reason I'm not "all in" on the next Nexus device is that the Sprint variant of the Galaxy Nexus doesn't even have Jellybean yet. I thought the Galaxy Nexus was a little too "developery" looking for me. I'm certainly weighing these too options, but no clear cut timeline for the next Nexus device has me nervous.

The updates to the SGSIII are maintenance updates, to fix issues that weren't fixed prior to release, as well as remove global search thanks to Apple. I wouldn't let the news of these updates be your main catalyst for considering an upgrade.
I'm personally waiting for 2014's phone lineup, and will probably buyout my contract and do an early upgrade in the summer.

I had the S3 from SPrint for about 5 days before going back to my S2 Epic. The S3 is a great phone but with not LTE in Cali it was pointless to have it as a 3G phone only. Downloading off the web was so slow it took minutes to download email from work. Until LTE is everywhere or they add 4G into the phone, no S3 for me again for a while.

I just don't see the GS3 as a full upgrade from my GS2. No quadcore cpu, Sprint LTE is still not much to shake a stick at... The list goes on.
I'm already running ICS via CM9 and as soon as CM10 gets a few more bugs worked out I'll be running JB. Plus I always root and run a custom rom so things like official OTA updates have almost no meaning for me.
I'm all about new hardware but tend to buy my devices off contract so... I wouldn't mind a Nexus device but that's still no guarantee for speedy updates. Let see how long it takes all of the carrier's to push out the JB update to all of the Gnex.

The current issue is that on a data level, S2 >>>> S3 simply because I can actually get WiMax 4G with 8-12mbps downloads around my offices, but 3G in the same places is 120-300kpbs with 500ms ping times. So one phone is usable, the other is not.
At the same time, I would probably still go for it if I were coming from, say, the Evo4G. But the S2 has ICS (well, mine does at least), the camera is about as good except for a few shooting modes to S3 has (burst, HDR, and capture during video), the screen is slightly shorter but no less narrow, and the quality of the screen image isn't as far apart as you would think considering the resolution difference. So I'm not chomping at the bit to ditch the phone I have right now.
There's still a chance I'll jump ship and go to Verizon fr the S3, but frankly, their customer service and policies really suck so hard that I'm afraid to make the switch.

I have totally began to depend on my 4G. I just don't understand why that wasn't added to the GS3. Makes no sense to me. I have ics so my GS2 is here to stay for now. I had a charger port issue so sprint sent me a brand new one sealed in the box with new charger and all. I added ics to it so it was just like upgrading to me.
