I tried to call my local Best Buy, but after holding for thirty minutes, I figured I'd ask the great members of AC...

Regarding Sprint's 30-day return program, can you only do this if you purchase the phone through a Sprint store, or do Best Buy and Radio Shack also honor this? After seeing the highly variable 3D reviews I would like to make sure that I am buying the phone from offers the test drive period. I'm pre-ordered at Best Buy, but will definitely be buying from a Sprint store if that is the only way to do the test drive. Thanks for any help or advice y'all can give me. :)

I honestly dont even think Sprint does this and people are confused, but maybe I am confused.
If you could do a test drive program for upgrades, everyone would try every new phone and take them back.

I have an inkling this is just for new customers to try the service, rather then existing to try a phone.

Yea you're pretty confused...It is for new and upgrade. How have you not heard of this it has been going on for ever? It is printed directly on the receipt when you get the phone. Yea you could try out multiple phones if you want but why do that? When people see a phone they want they will go get it....if they are upset take it back and get another phone(if you're within the 30 days of course). I know a cousin who had the Hero and later took it back for a moment. I wouldn't waste my time constantly going back to the store to get multiple different phones....don't know who would, but if that floats your boat go ahead.

No, Sprint does do this, for both new and existing customers. I actually found out about it from my roommate when he used his upgrade to try out a Blackberry, hated it, and got the Hero instead. I believe if you're a new customer you don't have to pay a restock fee. The way it was explained to me is that you can use your upgrade, get the new phone and have 30 days, if within 30 days you decide you don't want it you can bring it back, pay a restock and either try one more phone, or go back to your old phone and retain your upgrade for one more device with which you get no test drive period. I just want to know if other retailers do this per Sprint's policy, or if they go by their own return/ exchange policies.

Well I know Radioshack and Bestbuy do it the same way(not sure about the restocking fee though). Some do it differently like wirefly, who gives you 14 days.

Thanks for the quick response!:) I must have been typing up my response to PM as you were responding to me.

Great! I was wondering for Radio Shack as well since that's where I'l likely get mine. Gonna do the trade in thing. And My 2 year contract has been expired back in April. Nice! gonna go reserve my new
3D Tommorow.

dont get me wrong. . . I heard of it, just never heard anyone actually doing it that wasnt a new customer.
I guess its not as abused as I thought it would be. IMO letting customers do this allows a **** load of used phones coming back because people just didnt like them for whatever reason. I guess its no diff than anything else, just strangely too easy to abuse the system I guess

Yea it is pretty strange, I think if sprint had a larger variety of high end phones it would be abused more..... at least by me anyways :D
