Wow, update.zip is out! can't wait to try it out, thanks for the update guys!!! This made my day

Time frame till reboot?

Just booted into recovery mode as per OP and did the Apply Update.zip. It's been running for a few, but anyone report on how long it should take to normally get to the rebooting part? Stock rooted DI18 (everything backed up in Titanium Backup before of course)

xda and sdx have flashable files

EC05 update.zip *Direct Google download!* - xda-developers

Default EC05 update.zip *Direct Google download!*

http://android.clients.google.com/pa...DI18ToEC05.zip

(Obviously this is for going from stock DI18 to EC05. Don't know if/when a EB13 to EC05 update will be made so don't ask lol)

Rename the file to “update.zip”

Move the file to the root of your SD card on the Epic 4G

Shutdown your Epic 4G

Boot your phone into Recovery Mode
(Push and hold the the Volume Down Button, the Camera Button, and the Power Button altogether until recovery mode displays.)

Use Volume Down button to hightlight “apply sdcard:update.zip”.

Press the “Home” soft key to select.

(Special thanks to castro08 for getting the info we needed! )

Samsung Epic - EC05 - Update.zip

Here is the EC05 update.zip file

Filename: 5f372cb40834.update-SPH-D700_DI18ToEC05.zip

Here is the link that I dl'ed from

5f372cb40834.update-SPH-D700_DI18ToEC05.zip

Copied the file to my SD card and renamed to update.zip

I odin'ed to DI18

Booted into stock recovery, applied update.zip

Booted into EC05 and turn on debugging for usb

Applied CWM 2.5.5 and gained root

Rebooted into CWM 2.5.5 and installed Twilight Zone Kernel v1.01

Installed CWM 3.0.0.6

Installed ACS ROM 1.02

Back to how it was before I updated! WOOHOO!

Now to just wait for the ROMs to be cooked up. :D

It didn't take but about 10 minuts and it seems to run just fine. sprint ID is kinda dumb but what ever at least it looks like the eb13 bugs are gone.

Is there an official ZIP from samsung/sprint, like last time?
This is the official download link that someone pulled from their device. I have already downloaded and installed it, its official.. See Post #1 for instructions.

Odin to DI18 took me a total of 2 min 24 sec to perform. Boot up, shut down and reboot into stock recovery. Installed update.zip and it took about 5 minutes to install and reboot.

See post #1 for installation instructions. The rest of the post you quoted was someone telling they successfully rooted and flashed an existing EB13 based custom ROM

i wanna try one of those download links but im scared! i dont wanna screw up my phone!
Follow the instructions in the post #1.

wish I wasn't so computer illiterate LOL I have to wait for the ota hopefully they haven't haulted it..I just want froyo

everything works perfectly i dont really have any lags on my screen rotate. the gps, bluetooth works, camera works. tomorrow gonna test the 4g at work.

When you say move update.zip to root of sdcard, does that mean just move it to sdcard or put in a certain place on the sdcard. When I tried I got failed to open(no such file or directory) signature verification failed etc

That was my first thoughts until I downloaded hancent sms. Now I like the messaging even more than I did before the update
