Before I got it I dl something from the market ..went to rr came.back n there it was..its known.to trigger the update..so far so good im really.impressed so far...phone runs smoother and quiker. Cam..contacts apps all there running great..flash working good so far...only thing when u zoom in n out u get grey checker board but I can deal with that ..any ? Plz feel free t ask

So what did you download to"trigger" the update?

Wife (who was on DI18) got it OTA this morning it. I'm on EB13, haven't seen it yet. Wish there was an update.zip for us (the one on the first message said it worked only for DI18 folk).

I'm in the same boat except my wife hasn't got the update yet.

I wonder why the update.zip method won't work for those on EB13?

Will we receive the over the air still? Kind of has me wondering now....

alright guys I'm in ct and I saw that bwin said he downloaded something from the market and got the update so I figured id give it a try. 10 minutes later the update poped up. Thanks for the advice bwin

Same here. Went to the market to update a few apps on the wife's phone. That seemed to shake loose the OTA update. DI18 to EC05.

I used the update.zip from here and it updated on my epic in a few minutes with no issues from DI18.

Thanks to whomever that posted the zip. It was nice to have to start fresh with the new version as well.

I see this has been asked a number of times but it appears no one has yet confirmed that they've received the OTA while on eb13. I'm on the OTA eb13 and my wife has the manually updated eb13, but neither of us has received the OTA notification yet. I did trying downloading a couple new apps from MP as others noted here, but it didn't help. Interesting though, that I had a ton of apps requesting to be updated this morning as well. I just updated apps yesterday, so not sure what the slew of new app updates this morning was for. I hoped that might kick the OTA notification as well, but no.

So again, can ANYONE who has received the OTA update confirm that you previously were on eb13?

I used the updated.zip method from 2.1 to EB13. Then rooted to get wifi hotspot access. I am assuming this means I will have to go through some hoops to get to EC05?

Got EB13 OTA. Have not received the OTA for EC05 yet.

Just flashed the zip file. EC05 installed with no problems whatsoever.
No FC on sports mode.
The camcorder looks good again. That was one of my biggest complaints on EB13.
No rotation lag.
Everything looks good so far. I'll get everything reinstalled and let you guys know if I find any problems.

I'm on EB13 and can confirm both that I have NOT received the OTA and that downloading/updating market apps does not get the update to "pop".

drekosh, are you saying you were on EB13 and used the zip file to go to EC05, or did you go back to DI18 first? I thought the zip file would only work from DI18.

I just installed using only my phone. No computer. Downloaded file went ro my file and renamed to update and moved out to no select folder and. zip was added automatically. then followed intrusions to boot.

H itonestly was a bit buggy converting had to **** it off once. And took a while to load with preparing as card but seems fine now.

if i downloaded the d18 update from the samsung website can i put that on a sd card and put it on an epic like i did with ec05 on my epic? my friend is running froyo eb13 and wants the new ec05 but im not sure how to get it back to d18 so i can put ec05 on it.... and im not sure what odin is and how it works. kinda a newb here....

I'm on Eb13 no OTA update yet, however I did receive a text from Sprint yesterday saying an update was imminent, but nothing yet.
