Sprint service at [Your Location]

Anyone want to chime in on Eugene, OR? Moving there soon and want to see if Sprint has good signal to get the Evo.

Ft. Lauderdale= great coverage
Tamarac= OK coverage
My Sister's house= Bermuda Triangle
Brevard County (big county)= great coverage

People almost come to blows claiming coverage in their city is great and someone else saying it is awful. Once you see the Sensorly maps, you see that they are both right.

Coverage in every area for Sprint is literally tower-by-tower. Use Sensorly to see the coverage for each carrier in each market, block by block, 3G and 4G too. You can see the online maps but the high-res is only by using the app on your phone.

Sensorly shows that lots of unannounced areas already have 4G.

I started my Sprint usage in Cleveland & it was infinitely better than my Verizon reception had been.

Here in Tucson, it's still pretty good until I get too far up into the Catalina mountains, then it just goes kerplop. But perfect at my apartment, work & school.

yeah, i was in whiteriver for 2 months and no service. USCellular had a contract with the reservation (GSM). I lost all coverage after maimi (maybe the small town inbetween), AZ when heading from Phoenix to Whiteriver.

Midtown Atlanta. I was Cingular/ATT prior to switching to Sprint on EVO launch day. Online Sprint maps show strongest signal for both 3G and 4G in this area. I've found these to be a lie.

Coverage is generally worse than on ATT (perhaps unsurprising: ATT has major offices in Atlanta). I don't think I've ever seen more than 3 bars of 6 on my EVO. Signal is weak enough that I have to pay attention to how I'm orienting my body during a call so that it doesn't drop. More dropped calls than when I was on ATT.

4G service is OK outdoors, but absolutely non-existent indoors. Within two steps through a door into a building, I've lost the 4G signal. It literally only penetrates about 3 feet into buildings. (Note that these are large buildings with concrete & rebar structures, which pose obvious difficulties for any radio signals. 4G is particularly bad, though).

Traveled to Madison, Wisconsin. Had flight difficulties at their (small) airport. Everyone around me was on their cell phones calling the airline to make alternate arrangements. I couldn't hold a Sprint signal for longer than about 2 minutes... I ended up having to wait in line to see an agent in person since I couldn't stay connected with a phone agent long enough to work through the situation. Felt a bit stupid standing there watching dozens of other people on the phone while I had no signal.
