So we don't generate 100 different topics asking how sprint service is in a specific city lets use this thread to share your location and how your service is.

(I know this is not an EVO specific issue, but with all of the people jumping to Sprint specifically for the EVO I thought it would be an appropriate place to put this thread)

I live in Tampa, FL and dont have sprint yet so I can't comment.

I live in the DC metro area, in Maryland. I have pretty good service, especially in the car. Inside the house its not always the best but ok. I travel a lot and most of the areas are covered well. Sometimes though visiting family in more rural areas is a pain. I have had that issue the entire 10+ years though.

I really want the 4G to come to my area though. That would be awesome. I would like for it to be in a few other places I travel to as well, but who know when that could happen.

I'm in West TN and curious about the coverage as I have heard contrasting stories. Just wondered if anyone on here can comment about this area, particularly the Jackson, TN area. Would love to make the switch from Verizon.

Laredo, TX... never had problems with sprint service. But just got evdo last year. I wonder when 4g will come here if it ever does. even though the city just 2 hours north was one of the first to get 4g.

I know 4G is coming to Nashville, TN, but that is more in central TN. I would assume Memphis and possibly a few more places in TN will be getting 4G in the next year or two. As far as general coverage goes, I have traveled through TN many, many times and only when going through the smokey mountains did I have coverage trouble. But that was expected.

San Antonio, TX - depends on where you are. On the Northeast side of town I haven't had a problem but there are some areas where I have no bars/i'm roaming.

In Austin, TX. Had the iPhone 3G for a year. Horrible. Now have Sprint and the difference is night and day. I always have service and never drop calls wherever I go. I used to stare at the bars on my iPhone to make sure I had a signal thru a call. I don't do that anymore.

Also works great in the San Francisco / San Jose area and all inbetween. Always have 3G.

Really? I;ve never had problems when go to SA. but im usually around downtown or the i-10/410 area.

NNW of Phoenix

Great coverage when in town, my house is in amongst/behind some mountains so I drop the occasional call while in my house (but I know where the dead zones are in the house....)

Otherwise no compaints, call quality seems to be pretty good too...

Contract is up in Aug., SP member already on the list for EVO from Sprint site, will they give me the $150 credit on this phone??

Really want to get it rooted, but I'm an android noob.

BTW, 1st gen instinct.

I commute from Riverside county, CA to Los Angeles county CA on a daily basis and I've never had a problem with service. There are a few areas near LAX where service can get a little iffy, and I'm talking 1 to 2 bars, not no service like my iphone, but overall L.A. CA is covered end to end.

I live in Boise, Idaho. The Sprint service is great here, including 4G. Although I have not tried the 4G I talked to a guy who said it is blazing fast.

I'm in Long Island, NY and have a good signal most of the time I find that the signal doesn't penetrate buildings too well. When I used to have a Palm Pre I used to set it to roam only when I was in a building and it would roam to VZ network. Now that I have the Moment I don't have that option.

I have great service in Phila, PA and surrounding suburbs. Coverage maps show my house, work, and everywhere else in the area I go are covered with 4G.
