Sprint slow 3g speeds

I get .12 Mbs down and .03 Mbs up on 3g. Ping times 800+ms This is terrible! Verizon gets 3+ Mbs. Is my 3g radio not working? The icon is lit up.

I'm located in downtown New Orleans by the way.

Verizon.. More money per month plus tiered data plans & faster service...

Sprint... Unlimited data/less expensive/slower 3g speeds


Pick you poison.. Spend more money for better speeds but have to worry about data usage or stick with what you got and have up and down speeds but no worry about data and costs less...

Since the iPhone joined the sprint community, expect better 3g speeds and the unlimited data plan will probably go up from $10 to $20 a month.

I feel your pain. I'm in central NJ, about 30 min from NYC, getting 0.8 mbps down & 0.2 up with 150 ms ping. Sometimes can't get 3G at all. We had decent 4G signal for a while but that appears to have been blown away by hurricane Irene. I like my E4G, quirks and all, but it would be almost worthless without good WiFi at home.

I move around quite a bit, and I have noted that in some areas 3g seems faster then 4g, and at others it was so slow as to be intolerabe. On these towers, I have noticed it likes to try to kick down to 1x... so perhaps your just on a crumby tower?

4G is back! At least late at night. Last two nights I've had 4G signal again; Speed Test at 3.8 M down, 0.15 M up, compared to 0.38 down & up on 3G; (WiFi @ 10 M down & 2 M up); odd that 3G up beats 4G up. But this may be a good sign for Sprint's network overall. Repairs or upgrades to towers?

I don't think Sprint likes the Chicago region either...terrible 3G downloads.

I'm in Merrillville & I can't even get 1 MB/s outside. Inside I usually don't even try & just stick to WiFi.
Sprint doesn't seem to like north west Indiana much either
