Sprint and U.S. Cellular customers will be waking up to Lollipop, Android 5.0, updates to their carrier branded, minority variants, in the U.S.A.

Sprint on model # SM-G900P is now on G900PVPU3BOF6 with changelist #4781399

U.S. Cellular on model # SM-G900R4 is now on G900R4VXU2BOF3 with changelist #4385544 (no change from the previous release OC1)

Here are the current changelist #'s for the U.S. and Canadian carrier branded, minority variants.

T-Mobile (USA) model G900T build OF6 = changelist #5117004* (Android 5.1.1)

Cricket model G900AZ build OE2 = changelist #4837836*
..
Verizon model G900V build OE1= changelist #4782027*

Sprint model G900P build OF6 = changelist #4781399*

C-Spire model G900R7 build OC2 = changelist #4538308*

AT&T model G900A build OF2 = changelist #4432708*

U.S. Cellular model G900R4 build OF3 = changelist #4385544*

Bluegrass Cellular etc: model G900R6 build OB3 = changelist #4173671*

Canada (all carrier models G900W8) build OC1 = changelist #4100894*

(*N.B. The carrier changelists above, include their bloatware. The actual Samsung changelist # they are based on will be much lower)

For more information about your model of Galaxy S5, see, 40 Galaxy S5 models - Dummies Guide, which starts with the sentence...

"Think that everyone's Samsung Galaxy S5 is the same as yours...
Think again!" ;)

Thanks systemofadown1 but I'm OK on those as they are released via Samsung and I can see them on the server. I only have problems, usually, with the 2 non Samsung firmware releases for AT&T and Verizon.

Good luck with the update old stick! :D

Just appeared on my Sprint Galaxy S5 phone too.

313.20MB update

Downloading now OTA!

NOTE: Samsung's release notes are the same, old, standard, generic release notes. Doesn't specify any specific changes. Just says bug fixes, performance upgrades, yadda yadda. Offers the option to schedule it later.

Update completed. The device still shows me on Android 5.0. So, looks like it was just a Samsung patch?

Just completed the update on my Sprint S5 waiting to see if any changes stand out. I bet it is not 5.1.

I've been running the update full blast since about 7 this morning no hiccups at all so far :)

For the most part it looks to have been an update to the reactivation lock and maybe a couple of small minor bug fixes

Yeah I just got it this morning also. Updated, no issues, but I have no idea what is different. Seems the same to me, still Android 5.0

Maybe it's the keyboard patch for the vulnerability? Either way, I'm D/L it now!

Further update for the latest release from Sprint shown above ⤴
I've got to say Thank You Sprint !!!!
By not radically modifying Samsung's updates Sprint updates we receive don't cause all the headaches that the AT&T T Mobile and Verizon users are having :)

One thing I noticed this morning - if you open your Text Message App "Messages", it will no longer appear in the recent applications screen. Not sure if that means it's always running by default or it auto-closes whenever you hit the home button to bounce out of the app. Nothing really major. Just something I noticed as I always close my open apps to save some battery.

So, it's NOT an Android Lollipop update. Just a Samsung reactivation lock fix.

The thread title is a bit inaccurate. No big deal.

:)

My Messages shows in my recent tabs when I look at it.

On Sprint: No problems with update. Phone seems faster. Did clear the partion cache afterwards. After two full days, the battery usage is far better than before the update.
