Sprint Visual voicemail

I only want voicemail. I dont want to use Google voice for phone Calls nor txt. What do I do differently on that tutorial?

That was the tricky part! I'm not sure but there are three boxes you have to uncheck one or two of them. Read basketthis report that's how I figured it out.

Using my tutorial will give you the solution you are looking for; however, I'm going to list another for your solution here. There may be another way to do it, but this is the easiest method that comes to mind. I know you don't want another number, but read this through before ruling it out because you will end up with a Google voice number but it wont be used...
Using a computer: Go to www.google.com/voice an sign up for a phone number. Choose one or get a random one. The number doesn't matter unless you plan to use it.
The rest of this is done from your phone: Once you are signed up for the number, follow my tutorial EXCEPT FOR STEP 1. DO NOT TAP ON "SKIP" FOR THE FIRST STEP. Then go through all the prompts as listed. There will be a step where it will ask which number you would like to use as your number. Choose your sprint number. Now your Google voice number is dropped and you have Google voice as your VVM service!

OK I did that and made up a nmber to not use.
I did the phone steps, but inside settings it says my google voice number is my actual cell number???
did I mess something up????
it says use for all calls in the lower left of widget????

In Google voice settings, you need to select "don't use Google voice for any calls"

I am not seeing that option anywhere under settings and I was never asked.

on the google voice web site settings page it shows:
Your Google voicemail access number
<lists my cell number> Get a Google Voice number

upper right of this page it shows
Voicemail number: <lists my cell number>

ok now texts are coming thru google voice
WTF?

EDIT: OK I disabled it and removed from phone.
I think Iam at least back to how I was before i started.
the fake google voice number I created appears to be gone as well.

When you first install it on your phone, scroll down and "skip" integration, so it wont take over your text messages
