Just got off the phone with Sprint tech support, and was advised that they were recently told that Sprint and VZW were going to merge

I work for sprint, and I havent heard any leaked documents that have said anything of this nature.. Then again, I have been off for a few days, but even still, I doubt it... I Will see If I can find out some information on this at work in a few hours.

Verizon has publicly stated that they have no intentions of buying out Sprint. But things of this nature can change on a dime, so who knows. I wouldn't believe anything coming from an over the phone rep, from any company, much less Sprint. If there was/is any factual evidence of this buy out it would be all over the internet by now...

i work for sprint too...deff not true...vzw ceo said they werent interseted

Not a chance.

And if it was going to happen, I'd bet my life you hear it on here or any other tech website long before Sprint's customer service knows about it.

That coming from a phone rep? When did the reps become the first ones to know the latest up to the minutes news regarding the company :D I don't see this merger happening anytime within the next 6 years.

Sprint is currently trading at $5.17 and VZW is trading at $37.09. What does Sprint have that VZW needs? WiMax? No. The EVO? No. Can't think of anything VZW would gain from such a merger, but that may be more likely than AT&T buying T-Mobile.

Uhhh... the addition of millions of monthly subscribers?!? Low stock prices indicate a perfect time to buy a company, especially when you gain millions of dollars in repeated monthly revenue! It's not about gaining tech, it's about adding solid income to the bottom line for pennies on the dollar man! This is how business works and really is a win-win for both companies. But it could also have a negative impact to competition in the market, as new smaller businesses would have no chance to compete with such a monster company.

Hell, most Customer service reps aren't even up to date on repair policy.
