Sprint will be well stocked on EVO's

That is such a lovely picture! The only good thing about the wait is the fact that I barely eat since I'm on the computer checking out Evo stuff all day,so I have lost some weight. I guess I can now wear my speedos this summer! haha! Less than 48 hours!

So what part of Houston are you in? I'm in Alvin, but getting my phone out in Channelview, I-10 and Ulvade area. They are only getting 10, but my friend works there.

Sugar Land. The Sprint store is at the corner of Hwy6/59.

If you get an Evo at a Sprint store, you still have to pay $299 (and get the $100 mail in rebate later), right?

You WILL have to pay the $299 ... But you can charge it to your bill and then send out your rebate THAT DAY ... By the time your bill is due, you should have your rebate or closely there after ... I have done this year after year ... Ive been with sprint for 11 years now.

One thing before people start going into the Store. Call and verify your account does not have a spending limit. If it does you will most likely have to pay for it.

1. i don't like how all those open boxes are stacked and strewn about like trash.
2. sprint retail stores being coy and playing games and poor service with EVO inquiries have lost them EVO sales to Best Buy and RS.

I think the $300 up front, and taxed on $300 (so about another $8), then waiting for the $100 mail in rebate to come in 2-3 month later is driving people to Best Buy and Radio Shack more.

Correct, but as mentioned earlier, you can easily bill to your account. That's what I'm doing. No pre-order drama, no need to deal with Rack Shack or any blue shirt.

I'm not sure where you're getting your figures, but my Pre rebate (sent the same day I got it, at launch day) was in my hands around the time the bill was due, about 3 weeks later.

That is my usual plan, but June 4th is the last day of my billing cycle so if I pick up the EVO tomorrow, that bill will be due at the end of the month. Worked perfectly for the Pre when it was released on the June 6, but the EVO coming out two days earlier ruins that. I guess it's only $100, but would be nice to not have to give that up out of pocket for 7 or 8 weeks.

Oh well, being out $100 for a few weeks is better than waiting a day and risking the phone being sold out.

Most stores have 50 Evo's.. which isn't going to have a lot of room for late comers.. I would highly recommend, if you're in a med-small market, to get there early.

I called my Sprint store twice today and they refused to tell me how many they were getting.

The store close to me has 33 in stock. THey already know they are getting another shipment pretty quick.
