Sprint will get the Galaxy Nexus in Dec.

I doubt Sprint will release a phone that is a year old. The next Nexus phone will already be gearing up to launch in 2012. It looks like Sprint will pass on this and probably many new phones mostly do to the complexity and expense of their network changeover to LTE.

I don't think Sprint will ever get the Nexus. They have so many other issues to deal with that they are falling behind the advancement in new phones. They spent too much money on the iPhone deal and gambled away even more money on WiMax.

Really? They'll get it. I'm figuring around march. They are not falling behind on phones, they just release their big phones in the summer/early fall. 2 months ago peoplewere saying Sprint had the best lineup of Android phones. They'll be saying it again next summer. Its all a big cycle

Really?!?
Is it going to be LTE or WiMax?

That's the problem, they are more likely to pass on these kind of phones and will probably pump out sucky LTE/WiMax battery draining single core, low res phones till they get their act together on the 4G front.

They can't do that without losing business, and I think they know that. They're already working on LTE with the first markets scheduled for the middle of the year, so I can see them bringing the LTE version. They're not going to stop releasing high end phones just because they're in a 4g transitional period, that would bury them..

If there's one thing Sprint knows, it's how to loose business.

Just wait and see...

I think people blow that out of proportion. They made a HUGE mistake with Nextel and have been climbing out of it. They've been on the right track for the past 2 years give or take. They're making strides to improve their network, they've greatly improved their customer service, and are still holding onto unlimited data. I'm not saying I'm absolutely right, but for them to stay away from any new high end handsets would be a complete about face from everything they've been doing. I just don't see it.

It's not out of proportion. They also made a huge mistake with WiMax. And another huge mistake by overpaying for the iPhone. One huge mistake after another means loss of business. Their stock has already suffered because investors feel the way I do.

Hindsight is 20/20 on wimax. They took a chance that benefited them in the short term and is hurting them long term. Maybe those short term gains kept them in business? Overpaid with the iPhone? I wasn't aware the terms of that deal became public. Didn't they announce its initial sales were the best they've ever had?

You also seem to forget that a few short months ago everyone was saying how Sprint had the best stable of Android phones and how Verizon's Android phones sucked. Sprint makes their big releases in the summer/fall. Verizon does it in the winter. Sprint has been doing pretty good on high end phones over the past 1 1/2 years.

Listen, I'm jot trying to argue with you, but Sprint has been getting better, and all carriers make bad decisions. Their stock has been suffering for years, yet they're still here making progress.

Just for the record, Sprint is saying they'll have sold over a million iPhones by December 31, and that a lot of them are new lines. Just throwing that out there.

Jeez do you work for Sprint or something because you're not objective at all?

Sorry I'm not drinking the Kool-Aid that you're having. It's not all fluffy and roses at Sprint (or any carrier for that matter) but they've made more business no-no's then the rest and I think we're all going to suffer for it.

Unlimited data, looks to be on it's way out.
No Galaxy Nexus.
No new awesome phones for probably a year.

Verizon is looking better and better every day and I'm the highest level Premiere customer at Sprint. So if I'm ready to leave that just tells you how bad things are getting.

Wow, okay. You're not objective at all. You are obviously extremely annoyed at them to be that emotional about your beliefs. I stated pure facts. Unlimited data is not on its way out anytime soon, which keeps getting confirmed. No carrier in the US has the GN right now other than Verizon. No one knows anything about upcoming phones. Sprint has scored high with consumer reports on customer service in the past two years. Tied with verizon this past year i believe. Give me a break. You are so biased against them its ridiculous, and that's plainly obvious by your anger. I've stated facts period. You've stated half truths and assumptions.

Honestly, if you're that worked up about it, and that blind to some of the positives in the company and think its all crap, leave and save yourself some money on your blood pressure medication.

crzycrkr,
If my posts seem "extreme" then that's just my style, not my sentiment. But yes those are my opionons, it's what the forums are for.

You want facts?
Sprint just had to give Clearwire $1.6 billion today. If you think stuff like that won't effect us customers down the road then you're naive.

Yes...down the road. Prices typically go up. That doesn't necessarily mean unlimited data is going away. Could it go up? It probably will. If you think Sprint doesn't realize that unlimited data is what is keeping them afloat, you're the one being naive.

If Sprint does get this anytime soon, then they need to announce it or make it known before Verizon puts it up for pre-order. I'm planning on leaving Sprint for Verizon, and Sprint getting the Nexus sometime within a month will definitely keep me on Sprint. I call BS on this though.

They wouldn't be able to even if it was coming that soon, which I doubt. There would be no point to a contractual period of exclusivity if the carriers that are getting it down the road could announce it

That's true, but I need something promising from Sprint in order to stay. Their Android lineup doesn't look great right now and into the forseeable future (if you want a new top-of-the-line phone). Sure the GS2 is an awesome phone, but it's been available all over the world for the better half of the year. They're also broke from getting the iPhone and all the new network stuff. Maybe in two years Sprint will be awesomely awesome, in which case I'll be off contract, or close to it, on Verizon.

I really must have missed something on how much Sprint spent on the iiPhone, because all I saw were crazy rumors. They have spent a lot lately, and will continue to, on their network. That's a good thing though. Realistically, the GSII is still the best phone out there until the Nexus come out. Sprint has a big announcement at CES, so you'll know more then. I would think the Nexus in the Spring, and then, like always, all their big phones in the summer. Then Verizon customers will complain again that Sprint has the best lineup until Christmas time again, lol. Good luck with your choice.

haha true again and good point. But with Sprint being so much in transition right now, I'd rather swap at least for one contract term. Maybe it's just the HTC Hero I'm using that stopped getting official updates over a year ago left a bad taste in my mouth.Trying the vastly more powerful network seems like a decent choice for now and I would suggest it to other Android Sprint users. Tiered plans do suck, but I still don't think I would use anywhere near my cap, and with the Nexus I can set a hard cap on the phone anyway.
