Square Grid on screen?

Just noticed that there's a faint grid on the screen when the screen is off in direct light. I'm guessing this is normal.... Only visible when the screen is off ala LG G2.

It's normal. It's the digitizer.

Ah.. ok. I thought so. Just exchanged my m8 and on my previous one I never noticed it.

Is it normal to see the grid (if you look really really closely & it's very very faint) when the screen is on? White / Bright backgrounds only really. It's constant through out the whole screen.
