Since I bought my Pixel 2 XL the battery loses a lot of power. I have 100% when I get to work and by 11:30 am it's down to 56%
You didn't happen to mention what time you get to work, but if we assume that it's 8 am then that is indeed a huge drop for such a short time period.Since I bought my Pixel 2 XL the battery loses a lot of power. I have 100% when I get to work and by 11:30 am it's down to 56%
What does AOD stand for?
To expand on Kirstein's definition - it's the feature that leaves a floating display of the time, date and notification icons on the screen any time the screen turns off (either due to the screen off timer or Power button press). It may also show the 'Now Playing' song banner at the bottom of the screen if you have that feature enabled.Always On Display

Yeah I don't use either of those. FB doesn't go on my phones (I have a different app I use). I'm actually going to do a test the next couple of days and charge to full before I go to sleep then pull the plug and see what eats the battery in the morning.Apps like Facebook and The Weather Channel have always been battery hogs. Also, you could check in Security/Location/Location/Scanning to see if Bluetooth and Wi-Fi scanning is enabled. That draws a lot of power.

Used 8% in about 8 hours overnight with AOD and scanning off. Not to bad really though I will likely deal with the drainage from hlthe AOD as I have gotten to used to being able to glance at that.

Don't worry, it's just Google syphoning all your data and tweaking your phone settings while you sleep.
Perfectly normal.
