Stars not showing in Google Maps

Sometimes they do, but most of the time, when I open Google Maps, it doesn't display any starred places. If I type in the address of a place I know I have saved, and click on the "peg" that points to it, it opens up the details page and shows that I have it starred, but the start won't show on the map. Any ideas?
