Starting to lag

Somehow my notificaf ion for charging got disabled and as a result I don't know if it is fast charhing or not. Do you know how to get it back?

I mentioned previously I thought any lag thus far was related to apps. Just today I've seen it several times, the phone will lock up. But in each case, I get a message stating "Gear Fit Manager isn't responding". Just making the point, it's likely the way an app is functioning.

Mine is as buttery smooth as the day In unboxed it, perhaps even quicker.

Smooth and fast for me. The only app which is having issues is Facebook, and I'm sure their (FB) latest update is causing the issue.

Had the phone freeze once for LinkedIn app as well. So, other than app specific issues, it's been smooth sailing

During the phone call switching back to the homepage it almost froze. Had to end the call and restart the phone and everything went back to normal.

It's only been 1 month.

You guys have any problems yet?

The only time mine lags is when I swipe left to open Bixby, happens pretty much every time Glad I don't use it much

Psssst....come here.....I'm going to tell you something that's not a secret.....all phones, computers etc will lag eventually lol. Not just a note. And what 7s. Are you talking about iPhone 7, s7, note7???

my bad... galaxy s7. and so not true. iv had HTC phones and now my Mate 9 that is as fast as day one. Sammies are known to Lag eventually but hay. no biggie. i wanted and still do want a note9 just waiting for price drop.

Lol I'm going to pick on you again(all in good fun that's all), you mean the note8 I can't comment on s7. I do got a s6 edge plus that don't lag but I don't like the design and it just sitting in a drawer lol. Bout to sell it. I'm just not a s series fan. Straight up note junkie. Lol. My note8 hasn't lagged yet in the 2 months I've had it. My note 5 has no lag in the 2 years I've had it. Now my old note 3 that I don't have anymore it lagged some. And I can't comment on the phones you have cause never messed with them. My LG v20 lags like crazy. My two note7(RIP) didn't lag but Well you know they wasn't out long. My best experience has been with Samsung and Motorola. I used to be a big Motorola fan til Samsung snatched me away when I got my first note which was the note 3. Long story short, I guess everyone has different experiences. While my phone might not lag, someone else might.

I'm having a gallery lag where it will stutter opening and closing pics. Anyone have a solution to this?

I had this too. Simply restarting the device should solve the problem. Gallery has always been a problem, and seems to have this issue after I started using SD card. If restsrt annoys you, probably try removing the sd card.

Every single phone will have its moments. Doesn't matter if it's the Note 8, V30 or an iPhone. They all lag, freeze or have a hiccup every now and again.

I have had none of that with my Note 8 yet but I'm sure I will. I have had quite a few moments of lag, hiccups and freezing on my iPhone 8 Plus. That's unusual in my experience with iPhones but it happens. It can happen to any device.

Exactly! It's the imperfection of every device. Although this phone has worked flawlessly for 8 weeks now in my possession. People also gotta consider deleting the cache data every now and then ...

gotta say, with regards to potential or perceived lag, this is the best I've had yet.

I bet this has been done before. Can you ask if it has? Maybe then it's just a brief editing job.

1 Delete or logout of the Facebook app.
2. Restart you phone once a week.
3. Device Maintenance is there for a reason.

Yeah I've had it become unresponsive after I've pressed the home button to go back to the home screen. Also when I swipe right to Bixby page, it doesn't swipe to the page immediately and pauses for half a second. It's irritating and has caused me to remove it.

A bigger issue for me is how slow the scroll speed is and how it takes long to load up new content. For example, on Instagram, when I want to scroll down really fast, it doesn't scroll very fast at all, then it hits a stop while it waits to load more posts then scrolls again. Might seem normal to others, but it's much more than I'm used to.

I also feel like it's just a beat behind me when I want to zip through apps in and out. Email, homescreen, maps, find a location, open SMS, send a message etc. Hard to explain but I kind of feel like I'm waiting for it to catch up with me. I might turn down animation speeds.

funny how a lot of people using Instagram are having a lag problem but blaming the phone and people posting screen shots about poor battery life, Facebook is always in them...
those things want to know where you are and what you are doing all the time, it's not the phones fault
