I'm not eligible for an upgrade until October. The phone is out of warranty, and I'm running out of patience with this phone
1. Purchased an extended batter 2 months ago. It worked great until the latest update, and now my battery life stinks
2. My 4g signal is weak. I use my phone as a hotspot, and It gets aggravating that I go inside a restaurant to use my laptop or Ipad or whatever over the hotspot, and it drops to 3G inside the restaurant
3. I miss text messages here and there and some of my outgoing texts get hung up and don't sent. This was a major problem for me this week, because a very close family member was in the hospital, and I never got the text in the middle of the night to let me know she had passed away. The other person checked their phone, and it showed it sent to me. I of course received the group responses to the text after the fact, but it made no sense, since I didn't receive the news about the death.
The only phone I see on Verizon that I'm remotely interested in, is the Note 2, but I'm really not because I don't like the stylus, the screen resolution isn't great, and the specs are getting long in the tooth. The Galaxy s4 looks good, but who knows when it'll come out or how much it'll cost.
I guess I could do a factory reset, but it's a pain and there's no guarantee it'll help. This just really blows. I miss the days when I had the upgrade every year with sprint. The manufacturer warranty was a year, I got a new phone just as it ran out, and all was well. Now, I'm on this 2 year deal (did you hear Verizon changed this week from 20 months to 24?). So, yeah, this is going to get worse. They do have a deal now where you can finance the price over and above the upgrade price for 12 months if you aren't eligible for an upgrade yet, but boy- gotta be careful, there. Could get stuck making payments on a phone for a year that's out of date.
Anyway, are there any ideas I haven't thought of, or comments on this?
