Status bar tweaks on rooted phones

Planning to root tonight, but would like to stick with stock Froyo 2.2. I have 2 questions...

1) How do I replace the existing battery icon in the status bar with a percentage one. I don't want to add another battery icon on the left hand side... I want to replace the stock one.

2) Is there a working mod to change the status bar color to black (similar to the gingerbread)? Can't find much good info on this.

That looks pretty cool, albeit somewhat confusing. I see that the statusbar tweak says it doesn't change teh color of the text. Does that mean that if I make the statusbar black, I won't be able to see the text since it will be black also?

Pretty darn cool, but I can't get it to work. Always get a "Installation Aborted" status when I try install it from recovery.

I'm using Stock + Xionia

Edit: Okay, got it working. Under "File Upload", I have to choose the radio button for "Amend scripting. Old scripting, compatible with old recoveries. Use this if you having problem with flashing (no changes, error 0) or have not HTC Desire phone", and I also unchecked the "Patch9 autofix" checkbox.

Edit 2: And yes, the text in the status bar remains black, so choose a "black" status bar or a transparent one with a black wallpaper will prevent you from seeing the time clearly.

Since you can upload your framework-res.apk..might work with stock+root..but you'll need a custom recovery. Just a guess though..

I'm mostly stock (running stock rom from HERE) and this works very well for me. I'm using Xionia CWMA v1.2518.6

Consider me a noob lol, but wou
uldn't that no longer be a stock rom? Essentially I'm with the OP, I don't want to mess with roms. At least not yet.

lol, you would be correct, but it is as stock as I could get it at the time. After messing with other mods
