Steinheil Screen Protector Discussion

After reading through this thread, you guys might have just convinced me to get a Steinheil Crystal Clear if I have any problems with the ZAGG that I've had installed since day 1.

I got the Zagg on my Droid 1 and Steinheil crystal on my Droid X. IMO, the Steinheil is better. It is not tacky at all after a couple days of use (the Zagg is tacky) and it is optically clearer. As far as scratch resistance, time will tell. No scratches on the Droid 1 but I don't expect them to occur on the X with the Steinheil.

Does the Verizon car dock allow you to charge the device in the dock?

This thread is specifically for Steinheil Screen Protectors but to answer your question, the dock itself does not charge the device but it's my understanding that you can purchase a car charger separate and it will charge while in the dock.

funny story about my Steinheil crystal clear

buddy of mine has the Droid. Was loving it as he played around with my DroidX.
But he had a bit of 'advice' for me. He highly suggested that I put a screen protector on it. I said, it's already on there bro.
He had no clue. He was blown away at the quality of this screen protector and how well I installed it. He had no clue there was one on.
I followed dvader's installation advice to a tee...and it is perfect!

So after lurking this forum for a while, I finally broke down and ordered the ultra protector. Took my invisible shield off to straighten it out, and all hell broke loose. Cant ever get it right now, so I am using the verizon one again till the Steinheil comes in. Hope it is as good as you guys say!

I caved in and bought one as well, just now. I have a ZAGG InvisibileSHIELD on it now but I have a tiny speck of lint under it and even as small as it is, IT IS DRIVING ME INSANE. I was going to just try and take it off and put it back on but after reading the above, I'm just going to wait it out until I get my Steinheil Crystal Clear in the main and put it on instead.

Question: Is SGP Ultra Crystal Steinheil is also Anti Finger print also? I have gotten that SGP Steinheil Anti-Fingerprint because I do not like the prints on the phone, but if The crystal do not allow finger Prints I will order it.

No - Crystal is not anti-finger print. You'll get smudges/smears etc - but they wipe off easily. The Anti-Finger print Steinheil is VERY blurry imo. I sent mine back w/o even installing it after holding it up and looking through it. I didn't want to ruin that gorgeous display with a blurry film.

I agree with ya there, BillK. It ruins the whole purpose of having a gorgeous, nice, crystal clear screen if you install one of those anti-fingerprint ones.

Finally got my droid in the mail today, and got this stuff on there and I'm thoroughly impressed with it.. Even before "breaking in" the texture is pleasant. Installation was a breeze, and the one little bubble I did have, worked out nicely. Optically, it's not even there!!

Got my Steinheil Ultra Crystals in today. Still no response from my previous email from them. I guess they're selling enough that they don't care to reply to customers. I also got my stickers in from GRFXP.com. I'll post another thread on that.

My SGP Crystal finally arrived. It is as good as everyone said it is. Crystal clear and a snap to install. HIghly recommended!

I actually followed SGP on facebook and added myself to the list of unhappy customers there regarding the lack of email responses. You should too - they have a link on the sgpstore.com contact page. I told them their products are great but their customer support sucks and they need to fix it.

I actually got a email from them today telling me that they received my 2 packs of Anti-Fingerprints for return and that they processed the refund. I was shocked.
