Step sync issue after Gear Manager update

Been having issues with my steps syncing since the Gear Manager update the other day. My phone will say it is connected to the watch but the sync feature, though it says it is syncing, is not really syncing. I generally have to restart my watch now if I restart the phone to get it syncing properly again. I wrote to Samsung. They said to clear the data in the Samsung apps but I don't want to do that.

In the event I do decide to clear the app data, I am I correct to assume I will get all my stats back if I have backed them up through sync?

I had the same bug. Yes my data did restore to s health when I cleared the data in the app than tapped sync. It took a few minutes for it to sync but it's all back between my S and Note4

It even synced the data between the watch and phone that was missing.
