Android Central Question
I have seen one of the threads on the poor job of tracking steps. Someone suggested that the owners previous tracker may have been incorrectly tracking steps. Well, I have not found that to be the case. I have performed a couple different comparisons. One comparison involved counting my steps and then seeing how the Samsung Galaxy watch compared. I counted steps and the Galaxy gave me 85 of the 108 steps that I took, 22% less than my actual steps. I then wore my Fitbit Versa alongside the Galaxy for a counted 300 steps. The Versa gave me 314 steps and the Galaxy gave me 258 steps. While I was counting my steps, I was also stopping, picking items up and moving them. I think the Versa may have given me a couple extra steps for each item picked up (there were 7 items). I don't mind that extra, it was a physical activity after all. It seems that the longer you are moving during one consecutive course of time, the better the Galaxy does, but it is still missing many steps. If you get up and down, say at work, it will miss a huge chunk of those steps. Over the course of a day, it adds up, and can be discouraging. Is there a plan to fix this problem?
