Steps and Heart Rate

I've read all the reviews and complaints of wildly inaccurate readings of these features. I've now used Wellness and Fit for several weeks each and can say all of these complaints must be based on Fit's data. It is constantly giving high readings for steps and heart rate will go from 130 to 60 in the time it takes to give two readings while sitting. Wellness on the other hand has been consistent for me and always within a few hundred steps of my girlfriend's FitBit at the end of the day (we went on vacation for a weekend, so took practically the same steps each day). I feel reviewers should try out a few apps before they blast the hardware on a feature that many buyers are very interested in.

Has anyone else ran comparisons with other counters?

Since the app counts "a step" as "a step", if you depend on thm to measure the distance you walked, they're going to be different for different people. But a few hundred steps during an active weekend (which probably included thousands of steps) is pretty close.
