Sticking with Nexus 6P in late 2017?

I've been using this phone as a DD over the last few days (waiting for my blackberry replacement). And man...this is still a really nice phone. The screen is second to none, the camera is still good, it's ripping fast, and with my new battery it's battery life is great (though not even in the same league as my KEYone...but still great). Man...I'm really impressed.

I enjoy using my 6P, but the battery life is unbearable at this point. I'm getting roughly 2 hours of screen on time and I have to recharge during lunch. Plus my phone is beginning to shut down prematurely.

I just purchased the Essential Phone with 360° Camera for $400 through Amazon. It was too good to pass up. Should be getting delivered to my mom's house soon.

I've had my 6P for just over 2 years now. I plan on keeping it at least another year, longer if I can. I prefer to keep phones until they need replacing. Battery is still working good for how I use it. Sometime next summer I'll start looking to see what is coming out and if there is something I really want to change to.

My local UBreakIFix refused. saying some BS about bad motherboards. They never even saw my phone. They wanted nothing to do with 6Ps. That was in Marina Del Rey, CA. Maybe I'll try a different store.

Had my 6P battery replaced by the UbreakIFix shop in Reno, NV in 20 minutes without ANY scratches or broken parts in July '17. It's just like new. Don't know where you are but if you want to stretch it going that way, that shop in Reno is highly recommended for 6P fixes. :)

I upgraded to the Pixel 2 XL a little over a month ago, but kept my Nexus 6P. It still runs well, save the battery, which I need to get around to replacing, no nicks or damage to the casing and display. I use it as a backup, and will hand it down to my son when I feel he's ready for an upgrade (he has the Nexus 5X). It's coming with me when we go overseas for a few weeks. Putting the Project Fi sim in it and it's good to go.

Still using my 6P. No reason to ditch it yet. Probably when security updates stop...

Still using mine for now. I will be watching all the upcoming announcements (HTC, Oneplus, Nokia?, Essential?) for replacements when mine finally fails. If it bootloops before they ship then I'll likely get a current Essential. Security updates are so rare for me being on Project Fi. I'm lucky if I see an update every 3rd month.

As I just said on another thread, other than the battery issue, this is the best phone I've ever had. I bought it right when they came out in November 2015. The battery issue did become unbearable, though, and I chose to have it replaced locally for $79 last fall and, for me, it was well worth it because now the phone continues to perform almost as well as it did when it was new. While I enjoy looking at all the shiny new devices that are constantly dropping, there hasn't yet been one that is enticing enough for me to move on from my 6P. I'll definitely hang onto it at least until November when Google has said it will stop the auto updates; and I will likely keep it beyond that if there are no significant issues.

I kept my 6P as a backup to OnePlus 3T until last October. Everything worked like new but I wanted to sell it while it still had no major issues and good resale value.

Smart. I wish mine still worked. Got it last year just to try it out l. When bad in like a month. Now I'm stuck with a paper weight.

Mine still works great; OK battery life. I will keep until totally fails - then buy a new phone; which? don't know.

...nobody mentioned the outstanding two (2) front-facing STEREO spkrs feature on the 6P...great sound, loud, great separation & my fav numero uno reason for keepn her in action ! replaced batt 7/2017, still kickn butt !
