Still a good buy?

So recently my S4 has been showing it's age. Every now and then, I've looked at the Nexus 5 as my new phone, but I'm not sure if it's right. I can forward calls to Hangouts on WiFi while I'm waiting for WiFi Calling to activate (I'm on T-Mo btw), use a camera app that can shoot RAW photos, and I prefer stock than TouchWiz. I used the Google Now Launcher since release so that says something. Anyway, is it a good choice to 'downgrade' to the Nexus 5 or wait for something else...like a MotoX?

i have a Nexus 5 i bought on launch day and still love it. however, i would not recommend that someone buy it new today because it's simply an old phone. buy a new model and future-proof yourself. my strategy is - i only buy Nexus phones but i skip every other one - so i upgrade every 24 months. it works as a nice balance between staying current and pisssssing away money.

I switched from an s4 to the n5 when it was released and I'm still happy with mine. There were a few things I missed like SD, IR, and removable battery but I've always enjoyed my nexi.. It's relatively cheap and still has decent specs, I've rooted and ROM'd tweaked it so it's snappy as ever. I'm waiting for the right new phone until I upgrade until then I'll have my tried and true nexus.

I just bought a used one fom $150 and for that price it's well worth it.
