AC Question

Recently, I have been having problems in the google playstore. Its error 963. I already tried 2 methods to fix it and it did not work! I already cleared cache and data of the playstore and unmount SDcard. Still doesnt work! Now I cant download ANY app from Google Playstore!
My phone is Samsung Galaxy Note 4. I got it a few months ago. It cant be a problem with my phone.

Welcome to Android Central! Try also going to Settings>Accounts-Google>[your Google account], removing your Google account, then adding it back again.

Does this happen on both wi-fi and mobile data?

Also, do you have an SD card inserted? If so, try Unmounting the card in Settings>Storage. Then try to install the app again. If it installs successfully, go back and Mount the card again.

Yep I have an SD card - that is where I'm getting the error from...it's erroring when trying to install updated apps that are stored on the SD card. It does not error when updating apps stored on the device. I have unmounted and remounted the card (couple weeks ago) but that didn't fix it either. I'm still thinking it's a bug with Lollipop and not the device itself - there are other threads on androidcentral.com for the same issue. Just really frustrating. I can move the apps back to the device to update them, but eventually I'll run out of space as I only have 16 GB internal storage (hence the SD card). Thanks for the tips - I appreciate your help. :)

What if you move the app back to Internal Storage first, update, then move it back to SD? Is your Internal Storage too limited for that? It's a hassle, I know, but at least it'd be a workaround.

I'm getting 963 and I've never moved an app to, or tried to install app to the SD card.

Hmm. Have all of you checked to make sure the form of payment associated with your account is valid?

Don't know if it's a coincidence and it just started working again or not. But I was messing with dev options and toggled back on allow mock locations and off do not keep activities for apps. Might be worth a shot for one or the other

I was having the same problem. Some apps updated just fine, but others came back with the error. Whatever the problem was, everything seems to be fixed now because those "problem" apps are updating without issue now.

Mine seemed to fix itself, but just now it's happening again. For me it's Ketchapp games that won't update /install.
