Still Cant Update To 2.2.1 Please Help

I have froyo on my droid X but when i try to get the new update it keeps saying unable to search for updates at this time??? i am not rooted and never have been please help thanx in adavance... also i have tried to update on an off wifi i have pulled battery out and then tried and still nothing

Jcody, i have heard that they send out these updates in random waves so i would be patient and wait a day or 2 more. If you don't get it by then there are ways to do it manually.

if you really dont want to wait im sure someone on this site can send you link to download it and manually install asap.

i understand i can do it manually but i thought we are able to pull it by hitting the updates option.... out of all the forums i have read and other websites i have searched i feel im the only one with this issue its rather frustrating

Well try to give it a day or so remember the amount of people who use these forums account for maybe less than 10percent of actual end users there are out there. And if there is a reason you are not recieveing an update i dont think there is anyway for us to help force an over the air update. So please don't get to frustrating trust me i have been waiting to get froyo for months and no word of getting it so i feel your frustration.

If it makes you feel any better, I don't have it yet, either, and can't get it to update, either, so you're not alone.

Go into Settings... Data Manager... Data Delivery... Social Applications. Make sure Sync over WiFi Only is NOT checked. This setting will prevent the update checks from working. Im not sure why the updater would be considered a social application. The same is true of the weather widget on the home dock. It wont update over 3G if this setting is checked.

Glad it worked. I had this problem when Froyo came out.
