Still getting missed calls with ED05?

I am having problems with missed calls. A verizon rep told me Lookout security can cause problems. When it is removed, I seem to get calls. Can anybody else check this out?

Your 3g will go away when making a phone call or sending a text.

that i didn't know. But it's just during the day while browsing, it'll go from 3G down to 1x. I'll turn airplane mode on and then off and it'll be ok for an hour or so and then starts all over again. This morning I couldn't get it back to 3g so I tried 228/2 and it "reset" it. Just very odd that it didn't do that before the 05 update. Sometimes I miss my little flip phone....

This may have more to do with verizon's network. Seems like a lot of verizon customers across various phones have been having a lot of data connection problems since verizon rolled out 4G.

Try this... if you are NOT rooted, observe NOT rooted; Call Verizon & have the customer service rep transfer you to lvl 2 tech support. These are the peeps that can fix this for you. They have a procedure they can follow that will have you pull the battery from your device & leave it out. On their end they can poll your phone from the tower (yes they can do that even without the battery in it) & reset the connection your phone makes to the tower. Then you will reinsert your battery, power up & do a *228 option 2 to update roaming. After your phone resets you should be good to go.

I have had to have that done multiple times in the past after major tower work in my area. we know have 2 towers in my home area that are within 3-3.5 miles of my residence & work so I get 4 bars continuously whereas before it was 1 all the time. Just have your phone reset by lvl 2 tech support & it may help you out .

I am still having problems with missed calls. I called 611 and after trying a few things they gave me the 3 phone option. I should have my Charge in a few days.

No missed calls yet.......knock on wood.....lol
Its been almost 2 weeks so far.
I actually used the newest update to VZW_ED05_FROYO tar file to start with factory settings with ROM, Radio and kernel.
then I used UKB 2.0 no kernel zip file, applied the UKB 2.1 patch, added the swype fix zip file
and have been great since.
I now have ED05 now with UKB 2.1.
No problems yet and even battery life is still fine.
I was getting a couple missed calls straight to voice mail all the time.
By the way it even fixed the MMS picture issue that I was never able to get working since I rooted a year ago.
I was so fed up with the missed calls I even ordered a Charge last week of July when heard about the offer. Last week I called store to find out the hold up and they said quit the exchange for the fascinate since the update would fix all missed call issues. Get this....my wife got a Charge but mine was cancelled and they were ordered 2 days apart....Kinda ticked me off but if it keeps working then great I like the fasicnate. So far so good.

Must be nice to get a new model. I just got my second fascinate last week, and over the past few days I have missed calls and the phone keeps locking up and doing spastic uncontrollable things. So, now Verizon is sending me ANOTHER refurbished fascinate. I really hope this one works out because this is silly to the extreme.

I will add that I am one of those people who is actually having problems. I am not trying to buck the system. I just think it is funny that the lvl. 2 guy said to me to make sure the phone gets updated as soon as I boot it up. What makes this so funny is that I told him that the last phone updated automatically when I logged it on. Apparently there is a LOT of faith in ED05. Either that or they think I am lying. These past two phones have been absolutely ridiculous.

I REALLY want this third phone to work properly, but if it doesn't I hope I don't get offered yet another refurbished fascinate. I mean, what would be the point?

I am sorry to read that so many people are having problems with their Fascinate. I must be one of the lucky ones. I have flashed a couple of new ROMS with ODIN and recently un-rooted my phone and got the OTA updates to ED05 and then rooted again. I haven't noticed any missed calls, my battery life is good, and my GPS works. I think that it must be hit or miss with the Fascinate with some getting good phones and others the lemons. This shouldn't be of course but there it is. I love my Fascinate and hope to stick with it for a while. My daughter got the Charge in June and it isn't without its issues either. I just feel for those that are having so many problems with their Fascinates.

I agree Robin we are the lucky ones I guess. I just wish I had a better signal over by my house for browser.
It probly is verizons network if the tower ur using gets overloaded u probly will get a missed call. Ed05 fixed all for me, no battery issues. U have to be very careful choosing apps to download the wrong one can screw up your whole phone. Good Luck.

I am on my second fascinate, and the update seems to have given me better battery life and zero missed calls. HOWEVER...my phone continues to freeze on occasion, and at times I can't put the phone into sleep mode or power it off using the power botton. Instead, it takes a screen capture. I also have noticed the phone will randomly close apps I'm in, like GMail, but it's not a forceclose. I also have had the phone randomly boot up in safe mode. I'm running Launcher Pro Plus, not rooted. Anyone notice this as an LPP issue? Or is all of this still a Fascinate issue? I have not had time to research the Launcher Pro angle yet, just thought I'd see if anyone has similar issues on LPP.

No LPP here so I think it is a fassy issue. Same things happens to me but it rarely happens.

I just wanted to let people know that the upgrade trade up program whatever you want to call it is still on. They are trading Samsung Fascinates for a Droid X2, Inc2, or Charge.
The company I work for is going to trade out all 130 Fascinates for a different model. Unknown which one at this time.

The company I work for is going to trade out all 130 Fascinates for a different model. Unknown which one at this time.

i called tech yesterday trying to get a different phone but they will send you a refreshed fascinate phone. i guess after that then they will offer you a different unit.

She came back and offered me $100 a off contract price on a new phone, so i could have received the iPhone for $549....not....or a CLNR device for 2 year upgrade price, i complained and said this was not my fault and that i heard about the HTC Inc 2 and Droid X2 program and she said that was expired. She went and checked with someone and came back and offered me the Droid X, not the X2 for free. Regretfully, i took the offer. I hope it will work better than the fascinate....we will see.

Ima go ahead n give u a heads up i currently use a droid x on OTA 2.3 .596 gingerbread and gingerbread has funked up my phone, so i bought a fassy from my friend and have been trying to figure the ends and outs of rooting and roms and kernel and everything else but if the x comes with the latest update u may not like it..if u do i can give u the files to put it back on froyo and it wil work awsome for you!

And The Fascinate Forums have become a Ghostown over the past month or so. Kinda sad. :'( Life moves on.

Yes, still missing calls and if ED05 is any better I am not noticing it. A lot of phones are coming out in the next month and if I don't change I will flash a custom rom.

Agreed. I spend all day yesterday trying to get Charges to replace my Fascinates. The answer I kept getting was the manufacturer wouldn't allow them to replace them with alternative phones anymore. I called them out directly saying there's no way it was a manufacturer decision when they were offering alternates (Charge, X2, Inc2). Why on earth would Samsung say "we know there's a problem, offer them Charge, or 2 of our competitors phones." I'm giving them one last shot with 2 replacement Fascinates on the way. If they still have problems (which I assume they would since they haven't fixed anything yet) I'm demanding Charges or VZ is losing a customer of 8 years.
