Still on 4.1.1 need help updating without losing root.

Ive been getting the update notification for months and ive finally had enough. Lol Anyone willing to help me update it without losing root? Id REALLY appreciate it

open the app and protect the root. Update S3 and if the root is lost after the update open the app again and restore root.

Will I lose all my apps and such when I do this?

Do I need to do both odexed and deodexed?

I kinda did before I asked to be sure.1 More thing. Im on LJ7. Using the second method in Skunkapes post is safe right? I dont need to update to MA6 first?

If you're rooted, and follow the instructions in post #2, that's correct. Unlike the OTA, which applies an update to the existing ROM, this flashes a complete new ROM, replacing whatever was there before.
