Android Central Question

I purchased a Galaxy note 8 from Verizon years ago. After being with Verizon for a year I switched to TMobile to save some money and I brought my Verizon note 8 with me. I used the note 8 on TMobile for another year then I switched back to Verizon and got the pixel 4xl. I sold my old note 8 to a friend who was using straight talk as his carrier. The TMobile boot screen still pops up and he still get messages from T-Mobile and he doesn't have data when he is talking on the phone. Is there a way to fix this? The phone is unlocked and paid off. TMobile says they don't know how to get their stuff off the phone. Also I feel like they are messing with my data. I can't receive pictures unless connected to WiFi Any help is much appreciated.

Wasn't expecting this. Did not wipe phone!
Phone model is what I was shooting for SM-996U1,
Spectrum boot logo gone!
Im surprised it didn't wipe the phone it usually does going from carrier version to unlock version, if you find anything glitches do a factory reset but if everything fine dont

I went from carrier version (Spectrum) to T-Mobile version, then to unlocked.
No idea if that made a difference.
Very is working superb for now!

My wife's A11 A115U) choked, to make it short, all is fine now. Everything updated, only her Google login added.
Perhaps it failed because I don't think I had Developer Mode checked for always on.
Developer Mode has been set to always on, only thing that is factory now is Google login.

Simple question, anything I need to do besides booting to Discovery Mode to run unlock firmware
with Odin? Firmware for A115U1 ready to roll.

Same , use Odin patched prince comsey , just like you did for your device.

Bummer. Odin shows success. Model still A115U, Firmware didn't change either.
This is what Frija shows:
A115U1 XAA
File name: SM-A115U1_1_20210901142924_58zffky5ts_fac.zip.enc4
Version: A115U1UEU5BUH4/A115U1OYM5BUH4/A115U1UEU5BUH4
A11 stays at T-Mobile version: A!!5USQU5AUH4

Not sure what else to look for.
Still have Spectrum boot logo.

If you downloaded that version from frija and flashed it should of changed

Heartily agree, but it didn't. Trying to see what else to turn off besides having Developer options on.
May have nerve to receive Google account and try again.

Edit: One thing I didn't do was close Odin and unplug cable while booting.
Doubt that would make any difference.

Developer settings makes no difference, your flashing stock Samsung firmware it will still have locked bootloader.

Double check the model number of the firmware you putting in odin is u1 at the end , sometimes you can grab the wrong ones when you have a couple download

Nope, wouldn't make a difference. If the phone still says A115U, that's because you flashed A115U firmware - not A115U1

From post #111

Did not flash A115U firmware, flashed A115U1
Thanks.

Just noticed after posting pic, unlock firmware for A115U1 is Android 11,
A115U is still on Android 10. Would that cause firmware not changing after Odin showed success?
