Stock Android browser

I have just noticed that the stock Android browser on my HTC EVO running stock is seemingly closing recently when visiting some sites (innocent sites!). Such as TheHill.com. It doesn't force close. The window just closes shortly after the site (and some others) close. I haven't reset the phone but did clear out the cache on the internet browser. Any clues?

I don't think it would discriminate between innocent and non innocent sites. If it is closing on these sites it will do it on others.

I had to stop using the stock browser because of a similar reason. I never figured it out. I use Skyfire and I love it. No problems at all. Yes it doesn't make sense to have two browsers on your phone but if it prevents the headache of this happening then I am all for it.

I know there are other browsers in the market. Perhaps one of those will be more to your fancy.

Could be an issue with mobile browsing. Have you tried going in to setting and changing the agent to desktop/computer?

I've always used the XScope browser. If I remember correctly, a review of android browsers put it at the top of the heap in regards to speed.
