Yes that's correct. The BoostMaster charger ships with every 4GB RAM model. It isn't supposed to come with the 2GB RAM models, though.

I don't see any option to turn quick charging on and off... not sure why you'd want to, though?

You cannot as the feature is built into the charger. It uses 9volt instead of the normal 5volt. That's what I think is starting the quick charge (if I'm not mistaken)

I'm wondering about the possible wear and tear on the battery with regular quick charging, as opposed to normal charging.

Just use any other charger from Another phone. Or you can buy one for a few bucks.

Really nothing to worry about. Far more wear to charging/discharging it over and over again. They design the batteries and chargers to work together and not wear irregularly just by charging faster.
