Stock Email Issue?

I am seeing this same issue on different forums, not isolated to the Thunderbolt. K-9 works great, I tried using the exact same settings with the stock app and no luck.

I'm getting normal email notifications but not through the actual Gmail app itself like normal. I too have to go into it and manually refresh. Glad it isn't just my phone.

Sent from my 4GLTE face melter.

I've exhausted all ideas on how to fix this. I've read of some webOS users having issues with Yahoo mail as well. I'm not in the mood to switch my email address, as my yahoo account is pretty old, and I use it for all sorts of logins, as well as 99.99% of my personal email communications.

This vexes me....I'm quite vexed...

So this will only apply for Yahoo mail. USE AT YOUR OWN RISK

[1] Turn off SSL and use port 110
or
[2] Set incoming server to pop.mail.yahoo.co.uk port with SSL on 995

Yahoo has apparently a bad or expired certificate which is why people are seeing all types of errors like "Invalid Login" or when adding account "Unauthorized User please try your user name and password again" ect ect.

Again use at your own risk this was information from Yahoo support.

I didn't have any success with either of these suggestions. 'Cannot connect to the mail server to verify your account information. Your server is not responding.'

I wish Yahoo would have at least said something! I wasted a lot of precious time and effort on this!

Looks like its back. Awesomesauce
You're right. Right after I saw your post, I received a message through the Yahoo Mail app. So I went to the stock mail app and immediately noticed that mail I had already read was there, then the new message arrived there. Glad it's back so I can uninstall the Yahoo app.

Yep, just as quickly and almost un-noticeably, it started working again for me as well about 90 minutes ago I think...somebody, somewhere got the word... Yahoo! App was uninstalled in mere seconds...

No success for me. After I had cleared out the cache and all other data, using the stock mail client I cannot authenticate into my Y! Mail account. Sadly, it still doesn't work.

Working for me.
OC Nut - try removing the account and setup again using these:

IMAP server: imap.mail.yahoo.com
SSL
993

SMTP server: smtp.mobile.mail.yahoo.com
SSL
465
