I've just noticed that I'm no longer able to send location to contacts via the stock messaging app.. I'm on T-Mobile... Is anyone else able to do so? Has this option been removed?

I just noticed this too. Makes me wonder if they took it out? Although I have not used this feature for a long time, but it is something that is nice to use when needed.

Who uses the stock messaging app?? In all seriousness I switched to Android messages and haven't looked back. Cleaner, smoother and quicker.

you can send your location with Google messages and Textra is better then all but they don't have that feature yet

I'm on Verizon Wireless, and my Galaxy S8 still gives me that option...

For me at least, Samsung messages has 2 options that I love over Android Messages.. 1. Since I've completely themed out my phone, the messages app is themed out completely, and 2. the Samsung messaging app allows me to do automated scheduled messaging since i am very forgetful. I't really useful. True, Textra also has that option, but it doesn't have the same Samsung theming option, and if the stock messaging app does everything else why not? It's not like the stock Messaging app is laggy or sluggish at all.

It doesn't have gif support though. One main thing keeping me on txtra. That and being able to name group texts.

I'm not seeing any of those options. Is that the stock Samsung messaging app?

Yes, it is. I've always seen those options within the stock Samsung Messaging application. I'm also using GBoard now instead of Swiftkey. I think GBoard runs slights faster and smoother and definitely has more theming options for sure.

I forgot who pointed it out to me but if you download a gif app like imgur. You could select gifs via the attachments - other - images option

Just something I like to use, especially when I'm traveling, or out visiting and folks don't know the area...

I tried it... Just don't like how it time stamps messages, and plus had issues when people weren't getting my texts in group messages...

Not sure if this is what you are looking for but you can still do Location Sharing through Settings>Google>Location>Location Services>Google Location Sharing>Hit the + button

Too many steps to get there but you can share your location via Messages.

My shortcut in the Messages app was also removed in my S8+ (T-Mobile) but I don't use this feature at all.
