Stock messenger

Were you a google voice user? I had some hangouts disabling that needed to be done when I migrated to Fi. I could send texts, but not receive them, until I logged back into Hangouts and forced it to let go of my GV number, even though all other indication was it was removed. If you were GV, open hangouts and see if it is still grabbing your messages, and if so, unlink it (settings-appropritate goog account-SMS-toggle off messages).

Got the mms text issue resolved, had to reset APN's.

Originally out of the box with stock APN's, the pixel did not see LTE. . So the T-mo guy tweaked the APN's and LTE showed up.

But realized later, no mms.

We had tweaked the APN before the update. Looking back, I assume the update solved that LTE issue and had we just waited until after the update, the stock APN's were fine.

So, reset APN's and mms works, but still do not like google messaging, I will need to look at some others.

As a long-time T-Mobile customer who always used unlocked phones I was about to tell you to change your APN settings :P

Glad you got it sorted.

Mind posting a screenshot of the right APN(s) for T-Mo for the next person?

I just reset to apn defaults. But the big difference was pointing it at fast.t-mobile.com not fast.tmobile.com like the rep had changed it to

textra is cool. Just started using it on my new favorite smartphone, the "G" machine!

I just updated Textra app from a six month ago version. Now you can change notification (among a bunch of other things other might like) sounds per contact. Makes me happy. Its also been solid (previous version) and non-resource draining. Since I updated today...we will see with this version.

Hangouts is best...but I'm baffled why allo doesn't do SMS. It's pointless and should have been the Hangouts/messenger replacement.
