What's the memory difference? I'm tired of sluggish performance and I want to know if the Stock Google experience performs faster and better than sense.

Can someone who's had former high end HTC/ Samsung phones compare them to Stock Google?

i came from an OG EVO i got on launch day. i got the Sprint G-Nex on launch day and will NEVER go back to a skinned device if i can help it!

my sense is that stock Android is faster and lighter and has less overhead and bloat to push around and get in the way.

go for the G-Nex. i don't believe that you'll regret it.

good luck.

Gekko,
I fully agree that I would love to stick with stock ICS and it runs much lighter without the skins. I always ditch all of the giant Sense widgets every time I would reset my OG EVO, which basically takes you to what ICS is (without being ICS, of course). But, the GNexus is bothering me a lot due to the terrible GPS reception and general low 3G signal reception. Yes, I have radio update from the other day, but the GPS is still ridiculously bad. I travel a lot and can't afford to not have good GPS and 3G signals (nevermind the lack of LTE). I am mulling going for the EVO LTE simply for the better HTC GPS and radio performance, even though I will probably not use the Sense features and run it lean.

What do you think about the GPS and signal weakness of GNexus? That's been a real bummer for me since I like a lot of what it does. (I do miss the HTC keyboard directional keys for much faster text editing in long emails)

Hmm, I had bad experiences with my EVO 4G's GPS constantly losing signal. So far Gnex has been a bit better which probably just means the GPS is flaky in general.

Swiftkey has arrow keys on one of the alternate character keyboards. Might help if that is needed.

I've had both the NS4G and now the gnex (with the NS4G the signal was a common complaint especially right after release last year, the forums even got kind of ugly over it). However, I've never experienced any signal or gps issues with either device. Maybe that is very area dependant? Don't know. There is also a photon in the household and that's a phone regarded as having some of the best radios in it. Since getting the gnex I've compared in areas that were marginal and found no distinct differences. I don't disagree that some see these type of signal issues but whether I'm just lucky or what, not sure.

Careful with the thought of just going with the new EVO, I'm sure that phone will have it's own set of issues (as every phone seems to). We just don't know what they will be yet.

Very true comment about the EVO LTE likely having some issues as well. I'm sure of that, no doubt, but just in general, it's pretty clear that Samsung has had some problems with GPS and radio signal strength in general compared to HTC hardware. We have an EVO Design 4G in the house as well and that thing is pretty darn good IMO. Honestly, I'm a little tempted to just go with one of those for the next year or so since it is scheduled to get ICS at some point and it is a great somewhat smaller design. Ironically, since it is a smaller 4" screen, HTC ditched the directional arrows on it. C'mon!!! Haha...

I played with the HTC One X at ATT today and holy cow was that impressive. I really loved the feel and design of the white one. The screen is great and seems very close to the glass, like Phil described. The keyboard, of course, was typical HTC great, for me at least. I'm assuming the EVO LTE would be very similar at first impression...at least until it's quirks and bugs are put on display by early adopters.

I'm just hesitant to hold onto this GNexus with the potential for weak GPS and 3G signals on work travel where I need it and have been very happy with that part of my OG EVO. Now having tried some of these new superphones I'm itching to upgrade.

I haven't been having any problems with the gnex it is simply amazing I wouldn't trade it my 3g has been far better then my ns4g an GPS is amazing on the phone it locks on immediately after turning it on!

I was surprised at the difference in improved performance when I rooted my EVO 4G and flashed an AOSP Gingerbread ROM. Since then, I'm a stock android guy all the way, and was super anxious to get a Galaxy Nexus. But admittedly I was curious about the EVO 4G LTE so up until preorder day I decided that I would open another line to give it a try. When preorder day came, I changed my mind about the EVO 4G LTE because I've been so thrilled with my GNexus. I know somewhere down the road I will give it a try for a change and to see if HTC really has improved Sense. But for now, I'm totally content with stock ICS on my Galaxy Nexus. I've never owned a Touchwiz device, fwiw.
