Stock vs 3rd Party Launcher

I'm using Nova Prime with Nox icon pack. I used the free Nova for a long time until I discovered that with Prime you can make the icons up to 30% bigger, which I think looks great:

Anyone else having the problem where you look at one of your active notifications and then back out and it still brings you to Motorola's launcher? I've done this with text messages and emails, both times takes me to Motorola's launcher even though Nova is the default.

I've been using Action Launcher for the past week and haven't seen that behavior.

Haven't tried nova or go launcher on this phone. I really like it the way it is. I may add an app like multiple wallpaper so I can have one fixed background and the icons move like a tablet.. I don't like having a long picture that just slides when I change screens

Nova gives you the option to stop the background from scrolling.

Big nova fan as well.

I've been using Go since my Droid X. For the first time, I'm staying with the stock launcher. I can't say what I'll do in the future, but I'm just not needing the features of a stock launcher right now.

I don't do app drawer folders anymore since I started using them on the home screen. I miss the cube transition, but that's just cosmetic. Search button is gone. So, I need the search bar on the home screen, otherwise I'd want to kill it. I do miss the Go calendar widget. I'm sure I'll find a replacement when I get around to it.

So, stock is fine for now.

Heh, I use Nova to make my icons smaller =p

I like having the gestures available. I have double-tap to go to quick settings so I don't have to reach to do a two finger pulldown for the quick settings. On these 5" devices, I find it convenient to swipe up/down for App Launcher/Notifications so I don't have to tap the extreme ends of the screen.

I've been using Apex for a while. Recently have been trying Aviate though. Not a typical launcher, but it's different and I like the change so far.

I just registered for the Aviate alpha yesterday. Still waiting for an invite. I normally use Nova, TSF, or Next. But for the past week or so I've been rocking Action Launcher and think that it has sped up my app access when compared to my usual layout in the others.....

I've been a long time nova prime user but I just purchased the sslauncher and I have to say that I'm pretty impressed. It has more customizations than I could ever want and it has been smooth.

Stock is great. However, Nova launcher's option for aggressive desktop which allows the launcher to persist in the phone's cache allows for a much smoother experience with no redraws whatsoever.

Where is aggressive desktop enabled? I've been unable to find it. Is it only available in nova prime?

You have to open Advanced when you are in settings.

I would use the stock launcher but I apparently can't use Desktop Visualizer with it.

Figured it out. I used Icon Changer to get NOx icons/shortcuts on my dock.
