Where is the setting to stop email addresses from automatically being added to People if they are not in Contact list already

Nope. Can't find anything in HTC Mail or Gmail that sets "unknown" email addresses to automatically be added to People. There is a "Save to Contacts" option in Phone Settings (add unknown numbers to People after call) but I do not have that checked. This is happening with email I send from K-9 or Gmail that is a reply to a name not in my Contents.

anyone have an answer to this?

I have discovered since starting the thread that it cannot be done. Went over to HTC Community where there is a long discussion. Apparently Google has done this so they can capture addresses to boost there Buzz numbers which will in turn increase the advertising revenue. I am not a Buzz user but I guess if you open a Buzz account it loads all of your Google contacts whether you do it on a phone or PC. If this is the real reason I find it really intrusive and while am a big Google fan this has diminished my respect a bit. There is no easy way to group these unwanted contacts, you just have to go through your list and "seek and destroy". Maybe if Google gets enough complaints they will stop the process but I have little faith it will be anytime soon.
