I have my H811 rooted but running a stock de-bloated rom. I am still on lollipop & it works very well for me. About once a week I get a OTA download called update.zip that is the marshmallow update. How do I stop this update from downloading? I have most of the LG & T-Mobile crap removed but I am missing something. Any ideas on what to do to stop this download? Thanks.

It won't install unless you allow it, so really you're just getting a notification that the update is available. Go into app settings and turn off notifications for Google Play Services.

I did stop notifications but still received the download. Should I just leave the update.zip where it is? I have been deleting it.

Not sure if TMO is the same way, but I know the Verizon version will self install. It'll give the option to delay installation for a while, but eventually you'll go to bed on one version and wake up the next morning with the new version installed.

Since the phone is already rooted, I'd suggest downloading a quarantine type app that lets you freeze system apps. There's an app you can freeze to stop the update checker. It's called Updates, System Updates, or something to that effect. You'll see two entries for it, and one of them will show 0 bytes of space used. That's the one you'll want to disable.

If you already have the zip, wiping the system cache should delete it if you can't do so manually.

I had that one disabled (checked it regularly) and had the update forced anyway. At some point, it will get through unless you freeze both update apps.

I have a Verizon G4 but I use it on straight talk and so far I've not been forced to update back to MM

Still getting this update.zip. Not found the correct app to freeze. I even left the last update.zip in the folder & it just downloaded a new one.
