Stop the startup sound

Is there a way to make the startup of the phone quiet? so it doesn't make the thunder sounds.

You can download a free app called silent boot from the market.

If you have root, you can delete/rename/move "FinalThunder.mp3" which is in /system/customize/resource. That's the bootup sound.

Just put the phone into vibrate or silent mode before turning it off.
