Stopping OTA update prompts

So flashing beezy's fix for thunderrom on my lego rommed phone didn't stop the update installation reminder...

How do I go about reverting what I did so I can use zefie's method instead?

It's simple if you have thunderom flash the zip i made. If your running lego rom there's a post by zefie's with all the flashable build.props that will stop the update from poping up.
If your root and running stock then get root explorer then give it permission go to system/etc/security/ the otacerts.zip is in there delete rename it do whatever you want to it.

Thanks for your post. My phone is rooted but stock otherwise, so I downloaded Super Manager (free) instead of Root Explorer and deleted the otacerts.zip file. Initially the prompts kept coming, so I rebooted and no more update prompts. :) Thanks again!

Update prompts returned later in the day despite having deleted the otacerts.zip file & rebooting. Bummer.

a simple rename would have been fine. who knows if you will need that file again.

I simply renamed it to otacerts.zip.old and rebooted. It only nags a few times every time you reboot, but that's fine with me, dont do that often.

I have Thunderom V1.5 and tried using flashing this zip but it doesn't work - I still get the OTA notifications. Any suggestions?

Try updating TR and re-flashing. I'm running the current version and haven't had a problem since beezy released the stop nagging build.

Why is everyone ignoring this? This worked the first time and has so for over a week now. Doing all this file deleting and editing just seems like a waste of time to me.

Oops. I'm running Lego rom and I flashed the zip you made for thunderrom. Does that make a difference? I notice that it says "ThunderROM" at the top of my notifications bar now.

I have a very confused phone. Haha. :p

LOL I did the same but it worked. :)

guys don't worry the custom recovery wont allow you to intall the update all it says is "package verification failed" i accidentily pushed intall and nothing will happen the custom recovery blocks it from happending at least on mine

Cool, now my last question is, would it change your baseband or software version to V9 since the zip was designed to work on the 1.6.2? Thanks.

No, it didn't affect baseband or sw version. It just prevents you from being constantly bothered by the OTA update notification :D
