Storage full?

[Android Central Question]

I have an S7 edge.32 Gb.It says device full but when I go in maintenance- Storage and I have all sort of categories (like Apps,Photos,Files etc).The sum of all the space these categories use is like less than 10 GB.why?

Because Android phone storage is partitioned. There may be 32GB total, but there may be only 9GB of user space. (It's like a desktop with a 2TV drive, but you have a 1.5TB C drive and a 500GB D drive.) The space you've used is the space allowed for the user.
