Storage numbers are way incorrect

Hey all!

Recently I had to look at a friend's phone to move an app she wanted to keep to her SD card. Now, when checking if it correctly moved, I noticed that the numbers her Android reports for storage are way out of wack. I'll include a screen shot if I can, but basically, it reports as 14.5/16 gigs used, while the biggest category (Apps) only take up 2GB. Now, I'm no expert on Androids, but the OS should by no means occupy upwards of 10GB, right?

8GB (or more) is taken by the kernel and Android. Another few GB is taken by /system. If you want to get an accurate idea of what's on the phone, see [Guide] Checking the ACTUAL storage space on an Android device. 16GB doesn't mean that you get 16GB for the user, it means that the total combined storage on the phone (most of which won';t be available to the user in a 16GB phone) is 16GB.
