Storage problem on MotoG4

[Android Central Question]

I have a Moto G4 on Android version 7.0 and have been experiencing 'Camera error, please restart camera' whenever trying to take a photo. It seems as though this is due to a storage problem, as I am also unable to take screenshots, download images from the internet and WhatsApp, but can still update and use my apps. I have 2GB of internal storage free and have tried inserting a new SD card, and while this now allows me to take photos, they don't show under my media when trying to send via Facebook, and I still can't download via WhatsApp etc (it says 'limited internal storage available, unmount as disk drive and try again'). Does this sound like an issue with the internal storage of my phone rather than the SD card? Is there any way to fix this? Thanks in advance!

Welcome to Android Central! It sounds like it could be an SD problem. Is the SD card set as the default storage location for the Camera and other apps? Did you format the SD card as Internal Storage or Portable?
