Might already be a post but can I use my storm charger on my droid?

I checked the voltage info and the only difference is on the output. The output for the storm charger says 5V 700mA. The droid charger says 5V 800mA.

Is seems to work fine, but just wondering about long term affects.

Anyone else using their storm charger on the droid?

Only reason Im asking is I want to use it as an extra charger while at work.

Thanks!
David

There has been reports, albeit not too many, of the 9530 charges causing the screen to "freak out". However, I've haven't had a problem with it.

No problems here, the Storm charger is my bedside charger, I use it every night.

Though the difference in numbers worries me a bit...any info on that?

I charge mine each night using the Storm charger. I do find if I use the Droid while plugged into the Storm charger the screen freaks out. Typing is impossible too. Other than that the charger works fine.

I am using both the Droid's charger and the one that came with my Storm (One at work, other at home) Only difference is that it seems like the Droid charger charges the phone a little faster.

I've charged my Droid through my Storm's BB charger with no issues whatsoever (before I sold my Storm).
as far as charging your Droid through you laptop goes, there shouldn't be any issues to both devices.:)

I asked a rep at vzw and she said that the only difference is that the one that came with the droid will charge it faster then the storm charger.

That's funny.
It shouldn't make any difference, as long as you have the proper mini-usb male jack to fit the Droid's female jack, and a proper power regulator (albeit 110, 220, or 12v).

The only difference between the two chargers as stated is the output. So you won't get a full charge quite as quickly with a 9530 charger as you would with the supplied Droid charger, but it should work just fine.

I have used the storm charger since day 2 of owning my droid (I didn't actually look at the charger until my battery died on day 2 and made the connection that mini usb is still mini usb) and have had zero issues with screen, battery life, etc. I find that the charger that came with the droid is pathetically short, and never use it with the plug adapter. The USB charge is terribly slow, so I have that cable in my coat pocket just in case while in the office.

Same reason why I used my Storm's charger before I sold it. Now I just grin and bear it with the Moto charger that came with my Droid.
I've honestly haven't noticed a difference in the charging.
