An "Android system" notification popped up on my Huawei phone, saying that I need to log in to wifi network, eventhough Ive been logged forever. I have never seen the notification like this, it had a strange icon, and when I tapped on it, it lead to a strange website, that I immediately exited. Then, when I tapped on notification management, it showed me access to all of the apps etc. In couple of minutes it dissapeared. Is this a system app or should I be worried about a hack or something of that sort?

Hi, thanks! I can not get the shot of the message, its already gone, but it seemed this is a real process in my phone, so either its a system process or some funky app. But if I see it again, Ill take a screen and post it.

Ok perfect, thanks

Welcome to Android Central! Are you using your own wi-fi network at home, or is it a shared network (like one for a condo complex)?

Hello and thanks. That would be the first one - my own network. So nobody else has the pass, if thats what you´re hinting at. Could a link like the one that appeared after tapping the notification can be used for gaining access to the wi-fi?

Are there any other nearby wi-fi networks that might be more accessible to the public, like xfinitywireless, or perhaps a network from a commercial establishment next door? Perhaps you briefly lost connection to your home network and the phone automatically tried to connect to another public network that requires a login.
