Strange battery behavior

Last night I charged the phone to 80% before disconnecting, set it on vibrate, and went to sleep. No programs were active.

The alarm sounded at the usual time this morning, but the low power icon was also present in the seconds before the phone shut itself down. The battery was dead.

This has happened a couple of times before, except it was completely dead on discovery. I had attributed it to a problem with the White Noise app, but last night that app was NOT in use.

Any ideas?

Lol. I virtually always do but sometimes it's not possible.

Regardless, this still shouldn't happen.

hmm.. were you able to check battery usage at all?
Sometimes a weather app can go on the fritz (and drain via GPS) or maybe they're doing work on a tower near you and the phone was constantly seeking to find a signal to latch onto (try *228 option 2).

My phone drains REALLY fast at my parents lately. They did something to the towers and it causes their house to be in a weak signal zone for data. I found turning wifi on helped a bit because the phone just used that for data instead.

No issues with the local towers that I'm aware of, though if they're working on them at night, I wouldn't know.

I wish I'd thought to check battery status but was pretty groggy.

Now that you mention it, I received an email with notification after the restart. It was time-stamped several hours before the shutdown but there was no notification icon. I've had issues with emails getting hung before but hadn't associated them with significant power draws.

Hm.

You could try turning off syncing from the widget at night. see if that helps.
