strange downloads without my consent

[Android Central Question]

Hi... Recently while using facebook there is this strange download icon suddenly pops-up on my notification bar, I didn't even download anything, when I checked on it the name is as wierd as it is.. It was so long that I only manage to remember it as 'Attackers on <b>' then I immediately disconnect the network connection to stop from downloading. But after a while I open again and the download continued until it went to instaling and a name on it saying it is harmful to install outside google play, then I immediately disconnect again. And turn off my phone for about about 8 to 10 hours. Then I googled it and found same case as mine but no clear explanations and answers. So, I decided to format my phone for about 10 times and created a new google play account. I thought it is already good until after, about 5 days or less... Yesterday, while using facebook again a download icon pops-up again. This time the name is 'this website is installing may be harm...' which freak me out and immediately disconnect the network again. Turn it to safe mode. And rest again. Now I created a new account again. I'm creating a new account in the fear of the previous account might be infected or hacked. Now I disable download manager app on my android. Can someone enlighten me with this scenario and if disbaling download manager will prevent unconsent downloads. Thank you in advance.

Let's start by asking first - what phone are you using, and where are you located? Many cheaper devices in the world come with lots of various adware (and spyware?) to allow for the cheaper price. It is entirely possible that it is nothing you are doing specifically, and no amount of resetting or formatting will solve it. It could just be baked into the phone's firmware.
