Strange Message

Hey all, I noticed this thread and I just got this message as well. On my end, the only new application I have started using was Google now. Just thought I would throw that out there in case anyone else may have done the same.

Yeah it was actually the Knox Notification Manager.

I only started getting this error this morning. I don't think it is Knox that is the culprit. Knox is just Samsung's security software installed on the device so it's Knox that is notifying you that the application was forced to stop.

What I remembered though is that prior to getting the message, I installed an update for Evernote and tried to install a Photo Editor update from the Samsung app store so it could be the Evernote update that's the culprit. Or, it could be the pre-existing Photo Editor app that tried to do something and was forced stopped because when I tried to install the update earlier, I received some weird error and the update didn't install. However, since receiving the security notification from Knox about the app being stopped, I've been able to install the Photo Editor update.

This may explain why even people with a brand new Note III out of the box had the same alert and why it only happens when you connect to Wi-Fi because the Samsung app store would only try to auto-update when connected to Wi-Fi by default.

My money is on some issue with Evernote or Photo Editor. I'll wait and see if the alert recurs now that the app is updated.

I got Note 3 immediately after release. Installed all my regular apps soon after getting it. Everything was fine.

Recently started something with Samsung Apps, and noticed it is trying to update some of my regular Play Store apps as their own children and push updates from their end.
Started getting this message around the same time. So, I also suspect Samsung's security app is being a whisltleblower against Samsung's app store activity on our phones.

My suggestion to people seeing it, do not reset phone or uninstall your favorite apps. It has nothing to do with them. Probably a clash between Play store and Samsung App store.

I agree because it only started for me after the Samsung app store tried to do updates to the two apps I mentioned this morning. The error has since recurred even after I've disabled Photo Editor and uninstalled the Evernote update so I disabled the Samsung Apps store altogether. Waiting to see if the error resumes.

Especially since the Nexus 5 has been released and is so tempting, this is going to give me an excuse to sell it. :p

Guys, when you get the notification again, just hold it to go to app info(Knox notification). Once there , clear the cache, then clear data. That did it for me. Note 3 N-9005 ( snapdragon version) hope this helps ;)

Add me to the list of people with a Note 3 who can connect to wifi at home, but nowhere else. I've tried disabling different wifi features per other people suggestions, and in different on/off combinations, and no luck. I've had the phone 5 days now. This is actually my second one, because the first one wouldn't connect to my home network even. I couldn't make wifi calls on it, and didn't get the blue icon. Now with my second phone, I get the blue wifi calling icon at home, but I can't even get a connection at my job. We have very strong wifi at work, and the phone sees the signal (and says it's very strong), but I keep getting the 'weak signal, unstable signal, disconnecting' messages. I'm stuck using my data whenever I leave the house. Anyone who has a solution that doesn't involve checking or unchecking 'auto network switch' or 'always allow scanning', let us know. Those two suggestions haven't worked for me on either Note 3 I've had so far.

I used to have this problem on my S3 (Verizon). What I noticed is that I flashed my router with DD-WRT which didnt support my ISP (Comcast) using 802.11N so I had to switch to 802.11G as my wifi band. Once on the 802.11G Band I could not connect to WiFi while my bluetooth radio was enabled. If i disabled bluetooth, I could connect to WiFi. If I enabled bluetooth, I would lose connection. Perhaps that may help.

I found that the weird message also stopped when I turned the wifi off. I also can't use MightyText when my wifi is on. I love my Note 3, but the wifi really has a problem. I hope Samsung gets it fixed soon.

I checked the logs when I received the error and concur that it's Knox: pkg=com.sec.knox.seandroid
I do think that there was an update pushed that started causing the message to appear with normal use. I've followed the steps of clearing the app data/cache and forcing stop.

I have been reading this thread and noticed that every one has a different opinion of the problem and really every one seems to be confused including me on what is causing it. Let me tell you my side of the story. I started getting today and it had happened 2 times.... and the deal is....NO I wasn't using WI-FI when it happened. NO I haven't downloaded (meaning updates), anything for about a week and NO third party applications, every app that I installed when I got the phone at the beginning of October was from Google play, so what gives ??? I am almost certain that Know is putting the message out but in actuality is it Know going haywire ? and I say this because not every one of us here have the same applications installed except the bloatware. By the way I don't have and never had any problem with WI-FI either in my house or somewhere else. So thanks to the Rami Nabil for the solution given and I am going to wait for it to happen again and see if that fixes the problem.

I have started receiving this message as well. Knox is a security feature from samsung. What I believe is happening is whenever we're in range of a wifi network, regardless of wifi being shut off, the phone automatically tells you there's networks nearby The Knox application must be perceiving a threat from the wifi signals being sent to the phone when it scans for networks. It sounds like a coding error making it just clash with the network signals. At least, for me, every time I'm within range of wifi networks I only get the notification. I tested it multiple times. I cleared cache and data from Knox and tested it a couple more times by turning wifi on and off and letting it scan for the networks and so far the notification hasn't come back. I encourage you guys to test it out outside of your home network such as at work or something and see if you get the same results then clear cache and data from Knox and test it out again and see if the error notification comes back. Hope this helps you guys!

By the way, I have the Galaxy Note 3 and Samsung really ought to fix the automatic wifi scanning feature, in my opinion. When I want wifi off, I want it off until I decide to turn it back on! >:/

Just started happening to me too on a Note 3. I have recently done an Evernote update and installed the photo editor from Samsung. The switch between wifi and cellular network seems to trigger it. I'm going to uninstall both and see what happens.

^^^^ My above post is an unsuccessful fix when you shut off or restart the phone. Data and cache comes back on restart as well. It definitely has to do with wifi and scanning when you turn it on and off though. I can connect to other wifi networks besides my home network also by the way. I shut off the notification for 30 days. It's a Samsung network bug they need to fix. Soon enough I'm sure.

Knox was the culprit. After uninstalling both Evernote and Photo Editor, I still had the problem. I clicked and held the error message and a little black box with "App Info" appeared. Clicking on that black box allowed me to turn Knox off and clear the app's cache. No problems since.

I had the same problem everyone else was having. So i went into usage manager and clicked on APPS and saw that the samsung app store was running when it usually isn't. So i opened it and it immediately said there was an update. So i updated the app, and then disabled it and I haven't seen the stupid knox notification again! Even after restarting my phone. I think what was happening was the Samsung app store was trying to update in the background but knox wouldn't let it so it came up with the message in the notification center. I hope this works for everyone else with this problem.

I installed another Samsung app store update this morning and have not seen the error since.

Scrap that! I just noticed I hadn't turned on my Wi-Fi since I came home. I turned it on and BAM; immediately got the error! This is making me want to introduce this phone to my concrete walls at a high velocity...

SOLUTION is HERE

The Solution is as Ramy said "when you get the notification again, just hold it to go to app info(Knox notification). Once there , clear the cache, then clear data."
