Strange Message

Hi Guys,
I was worried about this message, I didnt want to reset.
I uninstalled a hell lot of APPS, but it did not fix.
Then i Launched KNOX. I signed in, and the problem was gone !!!
:)

Starting early today my Note III gives me the following message:

"An application has been forced to stop for an unauthorized attempt to access system in your device."

The phone and its apps seem to be working normally but I don't know how to stop that message from appearing.
I'm going to uninstall any apps that I downloaded in the last 24-48 hours and see if that does it, but are there any other suggestions?

I also have been receiving the message. Turns my wifi on and off. Thought it was possibly coming from a conflict with the ANT service and Lookout. The symbol displayed with message looks like Lookout warning. I disabled both but did not help. Turned ANT back on. Noticed many say causing the message in their app reviews. Emailed both developers. No response from either. I see some here feel coming from Knox. Do not see this on my phone? I also spoke to ATT at store I purchased my Note 3 from. Next step to talk with their tech support.

I also have a Snapdragon Note 3 , unrooted an no unauthorised apps, receiving the weird message occasionally, never installed Knox although that doesn't seem to matter. I followed the clear cache and data suggestions but this doesn't create a permanent fix.
Samsung should pull their finger out in regard to this and at least release an official statement regarding the issue which appears to be affecting many people in US and Europe.

I have T-Mobile Galaxy Note 3 went with two of my friends to get it and we got it same day same time same store and my phone is giving me the notification when I long on to wifi and both my home and work but they don't. The only difference is I'm using the Galaxy Gear and they are not is this possibly a Bluetooth and wifi at the same time problem? I turn my blue tooth off clear cache and clear data restart the phone and the the problem doesn't come back till I connect gear and then turn on wifi and all this started for me when the Samsung store updated Gear Manager

Is the problem only affect AT&T Galaxy Note 3? I think what's happening is when the phone is toggled from Mobile Data to WIFI data, KNOX seems to think that there is a malware trying to access the device. I turned off WIFI and for the past several days, the message has not crept up yet. But I know that once I turn WIFI again, it will come back.

Would someone who is seeing this consistently please go to Samsung.com and ask for help. I'm sure they can settle what the issue is in 15 minutes.

Ok I think I solved the issue guys it's needing permission from you to allow the app to run. Just like any app you download from app store. First go to settings then security then click on device administrators and check Knox and approve the application to run problem solved !!!!

Hey everyone,

I have the same problem. It started happening to me right after the latest firmware update. I never even noticed KNOX before, so I am wondering whether it was newly installed during the upgrade. I think that it's KNOX that is making the warning message, the only question remaining being whether we indeed all have a bad app somewhere that was previously not detected, or whether KNOX is way too paranoid. Hopefully an update might take care of the issue soon. It definitely would be nice if the message would show what app is trying to access what. Come on devs!

Best,

Sacha

Guys I'm telling you this is Knox. It randomly turned on for me.. Without me doing anything... It tried to block my superuser (rooted) access.

If you pull down your notification bar and hold down on the notification a button pops up and you can hit app info. This works for ALL notifications in Android. It will show you what's causing that notification... And know what it is? I highlighted it below in the screenshot... It's called "Knox Notification Manager".

I froze all of Knox using Titanium Backup (rooted app) so it can't run and now I don't get that message anymore.

Had this issue, got a security update pushed to the phone the other day all is well no prevention message since, nothing you can do will prevent it from coming back after a reboot until the security update gets pushed to you, mine came a few days ago in TN on AT&T

I have been seeing this since day one and it's only been 3 days with the note 3. It never says which app and all of my apps are official and have not had this issue in the past. I am thinking the security software is janky.

I looked at this, but backed carefully away. The warning for Activate device administrator for Knox says that it can:

  • Erase all data - without warning!!!
  • Change the screen unlock password
  • And other scary things..............

Not for this little Black Duck.
