Strange Ongoing "Ghost" Sync after GB root/leak install

Strange issue. Installed latest GB root/leak over top of my previously stock rooted Froyo.
Phone runs great and everything works fine except the sync icon permanently resides in the top notification bar. I've tried different account sync settings, disabling sync on several accounts, removing bloatware, etc. No dice. After checking an double checking all running services, I can't seem to find any form of sync that is actually occurring.

Anyone else that dropped the GB root/leak run into this?

Unfortunately you need to boot recovery and wipe cache and data. Hope that helps. I had it too until I did that.

Can I do a Nandroid backup and restore that?

You can but the backup would be as you are now with the sync symbol. Luckily I jumped on before root and had the same issue so when root came after it loaded I still had it and wiped. I hate having to dl and set up but its nice on a fresh start sometimes.

I think I figured out why this happens, it appears Google on GB added a Book sync option and restoring from backup it doesn't add this option that seems to confuse the account and it continue tried to sync this option/.. I have got close to resolve this without data wipe but my solution isn't perfect, I am hoping someone figure this out.

Hmm, that is a good point. I just unchecked it, so hopefully I don't get the syncing issue anymore. I have been good since I wiped and restored last night.

So the only way to fix this is wipe and redownload all apps and redo all my settings?

If so, BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.......

price you pay I guess to use leaked and custom ROMS.

Well, somehow it finally went away.

Restoring all apps (selectively restoring data to some apps) via TBPro now.....

Hesitant to us TBpro as I read it was having GB issues. Seems to be working fine. Tried AppBrain web install, but it doesn't work with GB yet.

This is pissing me off severely.

Wiped both my X's last night and it went away. I did a factory reset through the menu and then another reset/wipe through the boot menu.

What seems to be the issue that 2.2.1 handle messages a little different than 2.3.3 and format Cache and Data resolves this issue and then you can restore all personal backup data but not Account Storage (Enter email settings manually) and then this issue wont happen and then use TB to create a new restore point for 2.3.3.

If issue happens you can verify that this is a Account Storage issue by simply entering Settings/Applications/Manage Applications/All Tab and force close Account Storage and sync icon will go away but will return shortly when sync restarts automatically.

Wiping data and cache works perfectly, make sure you are selecting right option also, wipe data from Bootstrap Recovery/Mount and Storage/Format Data and Format Cache and then restart. This should remove all custom settings for device and then you can restore all settings BUT ACCOUNT STORAGE from TB.

Why are you getting pissed off, this is a leaked (Uncompleted Version) of a software and you understood this going in, you should have known it wasn't perfect, besides the issue is with TB not ROM in my opinion anyway.

I had that little sync icon also after I flashed GB about 4hrs ago. I rebooted my phone and it went away. I guess I got lucky. I came straight from darkslide too without sbf.
